First Thoughts on Deadman wonderland
hey guys got another first thought for you this time il be talking about deadman wonderland now if this sounds fermiluer to you thats because DMWL is the adaption of a manga by Kondou, Kazuma passably best known for the elreka seven manga now the DMWL manga started in 2007 and is still ruining today and its no wonder why this is a good story
Ten years have passed since the Great Tokyo Earthquake, and the people's memories of the disaster have faded. Ganta Igarashi, a middle school evacuee, has finally begun to live a normal life...That is, until the day "Red Man" appears at his school and Ganta's fate is changed forever. His entire class is brutally murdered, and although innocent of the crime, Ganta is sentenced to death and sent to the bizarre prison known as "Deadman Wonderland." An insane and brutal game of prison survival begins!
now with a story like this you know your in for a good show and the DMWL anime is good tho after watching two eps a few things have been changed witch tho will not mess anything up rely hurts the story for sum one who has read the manga but other then that nothing big has been changed and the story tho cadenced a bit to fit into the restrictions of a anime flows pretty well
the animation flows nicely(no surpriser there with this being a newer anime) and the colors tho thare are quite a bit mix well and are muted enough that DMWL looks bolth like a amusement park and a prison (as it shud being bolth)
the VA work is also good even with only a bit of the main cast around at the moment all of them have fitting voices especially shiro i cant Imagen a bater voice for her hopefully this trend will last and all the cast gets fitting voices
now the music is where the anime rely shines defiantly taking the minimalistic aproch but when it kicks is boy dos it kick and the OP is a perfect exsampol its called "One Reason" and its by Fade a nice hard rock song with lirics that fit the show so well i am pretty shore they wrote the song for the anime and if they did not its the best sync up since wizard of OZ and dark side of the moon
now with all this sed i rely think that this anime is well worth the watch yea it take sum shit out but that happens so much you cant rely blame the people making the anime for doing it anymore and this show rely takes the story and adds to it by giving it voices and movement so i say go and watch this if you can

retern of a great anime
hey guys i was thinking of doing a my next retro review but then i happen to read a rely intrasting news article that had to do with the the anime i was going to review so i desed to just post about the news for the show befor doing the review another day
The June issue of Shueisha's Jump Square magazine is announcing on Thursday that production on a new Rurouni Kenshin anime project has been green-lit. More information will be provided in future issues of Jump Square.
now this makes me vary happy because if you were to ask any of my co-hosts what my Favorite samurai anime and manga they'd ether say samurai deeper kyo or Rurouni Kenshin iv been a big fan of kenshin ever since it arid on toonami so much so that since then iv gotten the complete anime series, all 28 VOLs of the manga, the detectors cut of the OVAs and the light novel and speeking about the OVAs
The magazine also noted that the Blu-ray Disc versions of the two Rurouni Kenshin original video anime (OVA) projects and the Rurouni Kenshin: Ishin Shishi no Chinkonka [Requiem] film will ship between August 24 and October 26. A compilation CD will ship on July 27. Rurouni Kenshin, Meiji Kenkaku Romantan Saisen, a new game for the Sony PSP system, already shippedlast month.
Nobuhiro Watsuki's original 1994-1999 samurai manga in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump inspired a television anime series that is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year. Viz Media published the manga in North America, andMedia Blasters' AnimeWorks label released the television anime. ADV Filmsreleased the two OVA projects and the film under the licenser's prescribed title Samurai X.
Since he ended the Rurouni Kenshin manga, Watsuki drew Gun Blaze Westand Buso Renkin. His current title, Embalming - The Another Tale of Frankenstein, has been running in Jump Square since the magazine's inaugural issue in 2007.

con servile guide 2011
hey guys i know i have not dune one of theses since i first started the blog but starting this year i will be posting a yearly guide on how to get thew a anime con to help first time con goers and thows that still new to the hole con seen
first off know the cons in you area you may not allwas have to go out of state for a con so my first piece of advice is to fiend your local convention hall and see if there are anime cons taking place there because if htere is one it cud save you tons of gass or a plain ticket on a side note for all my readers in MA we happen to be vary lucky because we have a lot of options for cons there is PAX east, anime boston and afew smaller ones and aside from thows we are surrounded by states that have cons them selfs NY has comiccon and the NY anime festival and candace has cadedacon
once you have found a con to go to you shod take the time to read the cons rules that way you can avode getting kicked out for doing sum thing stupid like running up to random people cosplaying as a charter you like and tackling them to the ground(not aloud at any con mind you) or sum thing along thos lines
working out transport bolth ways or a place to stay is a must if you can tire using public transportation (essayer on the wallet) ofcorse and if your getting a room at a nearby/connected hotel tire to fined sum pals to go in with you hotels for big name cons are pricey trust me
speeking of price it is allwas a mart idea to make a budget for yourself so you can buy mech, food and still pay for your way home/hotel room and wall we are at it tire to save up for the con over the hole year rather then tiering to come up with the money all at once (way less stressful)
now if you are going to cosplay please heed my advice on the flowing only cosplay charters you share a simpler build to you you are 350LBS you have no place cosplaying as agito from are gear like i have no place buccha or onigiri I am not tiring to be a dick i am just saying it dos not look right
now depending on witch con you go to there cud be a shit ton of people for example when i pre-registered for anime boston i was in the high 20K and the number of at door regisers are lushly greater then the number of pre-reg so be shore to understand not everyone will have the same taste in anime as you so please don't go up you anime and say what they like is a tarabel show and if anyone ses it to you please just shrug them off because it dos not matter who started a fight the people who run the con will kick bolth you out
and on the topic of a lot of people at sum cons there will be long lines(and i meen long 5 to 8 hour long lines in sum cases ) so have sum thing to entertain yourself like a portable gaming devise, DVD player, MP3 player or book on hand incase you get stuck in a line with no one to talk to
also keep a water bottle handy as well its vary essay to get dehydrated or even get heat stroke (the latter of witch rely sucks when your in a 4 hour line )
if your plaining of going to the same con every year keep in mind that ware things where one dos not mean they will be there the next year so learn the halls full layout that way you can allwas find your way
now if you are with a group of pals you mite want to set up a meet up location most cons will have a manga library or rest area these are alwas a good place to meet up
now if you fallow this guide you will be well on your way to servicing a anime convention and if any one has anything to add please let me now because this is a ever expanding guide to help people

otakunicks retro reviews
hey guys and welcome to the first of what will be many reviews of old anime the reason i have decided to make a full on series like this is because i do a lot of reviews of older anime that predate 2000 so i figured hey why not make reviewing old anime witch happen to be a Favorite of mine not to mention i all ready have a massive finished list of old anime i can run thew that is all was growing so without further a due hears a anime from the 90s that i just finished yesterday called Silent Mobius
Silent Mobius started off as a manga witch was published in 1991 and ran to completion in 2003 witch was written by Kia Asamiy who also was the Original Creator of another one of my favoritenadesico the manga was adapted into a anime in 1998 and was directed by Hideki Tonokatsu who also worked on Sousei no Aquarion
now the story rely dos not seem like much when put into a synopsis but when played out it rely draws you in and hold on The year is 2023 and Alien Beings known as "Lucifer Hawks" have begun invading earth from another dimension. All that stands between them and the enslavement of the human race is the Attacked Mystification Police Department - a special division of the Tokyo Police staffed by women with amazing paranormal abilities.
the art is what iv come to now and love from asamiys work tho a lot of people seem to have a problem with it gess i am just strange but i don't think there is a anime fan that would not appreciate the music in this anime like a lot anime from the 90s to make up for lac in animation budget they rely made music that worked great with the seen and the mood of the show the op of silent mobius has acholy quickly became one of my favorite anime ops from the 90s
so with all the good i have been saying your probably thinking that there is nothing bad with this anime well thats not rely true there are a couple problems with the anime one being a bad ending its not the story's fault or anything like that its just that when the anime ends your left with the feeling that you just know there is more to the story witch is sum thing that seems to be the problem with all of the anime that are made from asamiy's work just like nadesico i am shore the staff was hopping on a second season but never got the green light for it levering this anime with a blatantly unfinished story witch hurts it a bit and of corse there are sum miner animation problems but thats to be expected with a anime from the 90's even the greats like cowboy bebop had thows problems from time to time so i don't rely hold silent mobius at fault for them
with that aside i must say this is a must see for fans of asamiy's works and a solid recantation to any fan of anime its a great story with a cool cast nice art and music that would be a great addition to anyones collection

first thoughts on nana to kaoru
hey guys i am back with the next anime i started in this new spring line up and today its ep one of a new OVA called you guessed it nana to kaoru now be for i get into this i must make a disclaimer this OVA is MA only so if your under the age of 18 this post is not for your eyes tho i will not be putting up any X rated IMG this OVA covers ideas not meant for young viewers and i clam no responsibly if you don't heed my warning and get caught watching this
now with that out of the way the story is as fallowed
Kaoru is a 17-year old virgin who has an S&M fetish. He has always dreamt about an SM relationship with his childhood friend Nana, who is looked upon as perfect and is always the target of boys' eyes. Their relationship has somewhat deteriorated through the years, due to them hanging out with different people and because Kaoru is not taking his education too seriously. One day though, Kaoru's mother gives some of his S&M toys to Nana for safekeeping - Nana finds the leather one-piece that Kaoru bought and tries it on but accidentally locks herself in it and doesn't have the key! Kaoru frees her of the one-piece, but then Nana realizes she may like Kaoru's hobby more than she thought and subsequently the two of them start engaging in so-called "breathers". These breathers are intended to relieve Nana of stress, stress originating from her attempts at keeping her grades and her name perfect. thats right every one this is a S&M OVA now you are probably wondering why the hall would i review this or even watch this and thow id have no problem telling you personally i feel its best if i refrain from that explanation and just focus on the facts of the OVA now nana to kauro started out as a manga written by Amazume, Ryuta who has written about 14 other manga all of witch deal with sex and discovering ones sexuality so as you can see this is not just a one time thing the writer thought would be a fun project Amazume is well versed and quite good at this type of story i for one have acholy picked up nana to kaoru's manga resently and tho iv only read a chapter or so i can tell that the writer has don his resherch on the topic and is being vary therow the OVA of nana to kauro is being produced by AIC Plus+ the same people that gavet us Asobi ni Iku yo! and is being detected by Okamoto, Hideki who oddly enough has detected a few personal Favorite's of mine such as After War Gundam X and Gasaraki so i am looking forwerd to see how he Handels a anime like this now the art style of this OVA is sum thing you would probably be more used to seeing in a hentai but it is rely fathfully to the original art and i rely cod not pitcher it in any other style with a story like this you need a art style that can properly depict the human form with proper pa portions witch is exactly what this art dos So now it comes down to weather or not I recommend this OVA and well I am a bit conflicted on this because yes this is pretty much a like hentai but then again there is NO sex in this unlike shows like Yosuga no Sora and the story is interesting so realy like Dog Days this is completely up to you personally i like this but my reasons for liking it are my own and i can't base a reccomendation on them so you will need to decide hopefully this post will help you do just that. |

first thoughts on dog days
hey guys well i started my first anime of the spring 2011 line up and i have to say the first ep of dog days rely did a good job getting me intarested but be for i get into that lets look at the story the
Republic of Biscotti faces a predicament by the invasion of Galette Leo Knights. In order to save the country, Princess Milchore summons a "hero" from the outer world. Shinku, a junior high school boy living in the Earth, is chosen as the hero. so just your run of the mill fantasy story right wrong nothing is a clean cut as that when the story if from Tsuzuki, Masaki the man that brout us the nanoha anime witch if you guys have not all ready figged out i happen to be a big fan of and from the way dog days has started it fast become a personal Favorite like nanoha but unlike nanoha this anime did not have to have to get stuck with relatively unknown VAs(thow nanohas VAs fit like a glove atlest in the japanese dub anyway) to start things off the voice of the male lead will stand right out for thows who watched star driver Izumi, Shinku is played by non other then Tsunashi, Takuto's VA Miyano, Mamoru and he uses the same voice as he used for takuto as well and i am not shore but i think i heard Norio Wakamotos voice as well i will have to pay more attention next time but over all i have to say i am liking dog days the first ep was funny and energetic i think tsuzuki is going for the more happy go lucky story with dog days with how the first ep went but i would not be surprised in the lest if shit hit the fan because nanoha strikers had the makings of a happy go lucky story but quickly turned dark so its yet to be seen if this will remane happy or get serious ether way it will probably be entertaining |
