OtakuNick reviews: Kakumeiki Valvrave (Valvrave the Liberator)

Hey guys OtakuNick hear witch a new review for you. Yes I know Its been a long time but I was in a rely big slump but now Im back and tho I will not be posting as often I will be posting what I love the post the most reviews of anime. Because Iv alwaysed beleved its the duty of thows that have watched way to much to gide thows that have watched almost nothing. so with out any more delays lets get to it.

Production
This anime was brout to us by three company's first being Sunrise beast known for being the animation company behind the mobile suit Gundam franchise witch hase be going for nerly 35 years now. But they where also the company that gave us Code Geass, Cowboy Bebop, and many more anime now cunsitered classics. the next two companys are mor like one as they are just to branches of the same parent company Aniplex, and Aniplex of America. If thow names ring more bells in your head then sunrise that is no saprise as they are the ones that brout you animes like Blood+, Darker then black, and most notably Fullmetal Alchemist and  Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. So needless to say this anime has alot of big names behind it.

Staff
Now then even if the show was made by big companys that dosint meen they will be good no thats up to the staff. And let me say the people that worked on this anime know thar stuff. First off we have the Director Matsuo, Kou thow I wouldint call him the most well know director he dos a okay job hear and sum of his more notable works includ being on the Storyboard staff for Gundom 00. next up is Okouchi, Ichiro the script writer unlike Matsuo Kou  Okouchi, Ichiro is what Id call a big time player as he work on sum farly high profiled shows as a script writer such as Trun A gundam, code geass, and Eureka Seven He even wrote the  Screenplay from one of my favret lesser know anime Shigofumi. So needless to say the scrip is in good hands. Now then whare would a Mecha anime be without kick ass robots well Washio, Naohiro has you covered thar this is the man behinf the Fafner in Soukyuu no Fafner: Dead Aggressor - Exodus and he makes sum rely cool looking mecha for this anime.

Story
True Calendar (T.C.) 71 - A new age where 70% of the human population lives in space thanks to the development of "Dyson Sphere", a city in space.

The world is divided into two main powers: The Dorssia Military Pact Federation, a power which grew out of a military alliance, and the Atlantic Rim United States (ARUS), which grew in power as it expanded its trade agreements. The minor nation of JIOR has declared neutrality between these two forces and maintains its peace through economic prosperity.

Within the JIOR's Sphere, Haruto Tokishima lived an ordinary life as a high school student in the division known as "Module 77"—until the Dorssian military begins their sudden invasion!

But the whole world will be shaken when Haruto meets the mysterious humanoid weapon, Valvrave!

Now then the story may seem like your basic gundam rip off and cunsitering this animes back ground one couldint be blamed for doing so. But its the sub plots that are rely going to get you to watch this anime. And I must say the way the first season leaves off you will ether be dreading you have to wait so long for season two or just give up on the show. myself I cant wait for season two.

Art/Animation
like I sed this anime was made by both sunrise and aniplex two companys known for having good animation in thare more high profile shows and let me just say they do no disapont sunrise is in top form with animating the mecha and aniplexes charters are as crisp and emoting as ever when it comes to animation this show has the beast of bolth worlds.

Sound/Music
Okay so so fare we hve talked about the story, art and who made the show all that is left is how the show sounds. I have to say I love the OST and sound effects in this show plain and simple. Yes the OST is no ware near Yoko Kano level work but for this show is great I always have a hard time skipping the OP and I never skip the ending theme as for insert songs thow non stick out to me as must haves at the time they worked varry well. so over all I say this is a varry nicely put togreather sound track

Vertic

Okay so for you that just like a yea or nay type revie and dont whant to read my long winded review hears the clifnotes. the show is good it come from good stock and its art is good looking. the story is okay the main plot will not be turing many heads but the subplots will keep you intaresed in the show  and show is has a polerising ending for the first season thare will be a second season. and the music is nice. so basicly Im say this is worth a watch .

OtakuHome News: Yoko Kanno and Piano Inc hold open audition

OtakuHome News Valvrave the Liberator PV vid relesed

The official website for Sunrise's Valvrave the Liberator (Kakumeiki Valvrave) television anime series began streaming the anime's second television commercial on Friday. The new commercial reveals the show's main staff.

Mainichi Shimbun's Mantan Web site revealed some of the story details for the anime on Friday. The story is set in an era when 70% of the human race lives in space due to the development of space cities. Between two major powers — the Dorushia Military Pact Federation and the Atlantic Ring United States (ARUS) — there is a small neutral nation called Jiōru that has prospered economically. The protagonist Haruto Tokishima, a high school student who lives in Jiōru, encounters the mysterious humanoid weapon "Valvrave" when the Dorushia army invades.

The anime will premiere next April on MBS' "Animeism" late-night programming block. The show's website also revealed a new key visual image on Friday.
Kou Matsuo (Kure-nai, Natsuyuki Rendezvous, Rozen Maiden) is directing the series at Sunrise. Ichiro Okouchi (Code Geass, Negima!, Guilty Crown) is handling the series composition. Manga creator Katsura Hoshino (D.Gray-man) is handling the original character designs for the series, and Tatsuya Suzuki (Mobile Suit Gundam Battlefield Record: Avant-Title) is adapting Hoshino's designs for animation. Makoto Ishiwata (Robotics;Notes, Blassreiter), Naohiro Washio (Bodacious Space Pirates, Mobile Suit Gundam 00, Fafner), and Kunio Okawara (Mobile Suit Gundam franchise, Armored Trooper Votoms, Yatterman) are handling mechanical design.

OtakuNews more gundam cafe's to open in japan

Bandai announced plans on Friday to expand its Gundam Café chain into the Osaka, Nagoya, Hiroshima, and similar metropolitan areas. The company will open a third Tokyo cafe at the main Tokyo Station's First Avenue area on Thursday.

There are already two Tokyo-area Gundam Cafés open at the Akihabara Japan Railway station and on Odaiba island. There was a Gundam Café — the first official Gundam-themed restaurant — in the Bandai Museum in the nearby city of Matsudo before the museum closed in 2006.

The Akihabara café receives about 400,000 customers per year with sales exceeding Bandai's 200-million-yen (about US$2.4-million) target. needless to say that if I was in the area I would go but sadly Im to poor to funt a trip to japan just to eat and drink gundam themed foods and drinks.

otaku news we may get more gundam rage(age) in one form or another

The official Twitter account for the Mobile Suit Gundam AGE anime posted a rough sketch of the characters Asemu and Zeheart by designer Michinori Chiba on Wednesday. According to producer Masakazu Ogawa, the staff is considering plans for presenting more of the two characters' story in some form. The staff did not say that more anime has been green-lit. Chiba drew this sketch for these tentative plans, which Ogawa previously mentioned in September.

Asemu was the main character of the second generation in Mobile Suit Gundam AGE anime, and Zeheart was a major antagonist of his. The television series premiered in October of 2011, and it ended on September 23, 2012, shortly before Ogawa mentioned the tentative plans.

okay I know the show rely went down hill in the latter part of the last genaration and the second gen rely didint get much. so please dont hate me for hopeing that we do get more of the seconed genartion in anime form. out of all three I think the 2nd gen had the most potenchal out of the three to do sum cool stuff. But being that it was the 2nd gen it rely didint get the love it deserved. so Im going to be optamistic about this okay guys.

otakunews Seed Destiny getting a HD remaster too

The official live stream of the 50th and final episode of the Mobile Suit Gundam Seed HD Remaster Project ended with an announcement on Friday of an HD Remaster Project for the Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny anime.

The Gundam Seed HD Remaster began streaming on the Bandai Channel service last December before running on the BS11 satellite channel and the Tokyo MX TV station this year. The fourth Mobile Suit Gundam Remaster box will be released in Japan on December 21 with a price of 15,485 yen (about US$191).

I dont know about you guys but I rely do think this is a big wast of bandais money. The seed franchis is no ware as big as it once was and even if they only do a bare minimum of upscale like they did for the first seed remaster this will probly cost more then it could bring in. That is unless for sum reson there is a massive group of seed fans perficly willing to get riped off by paying outrageus prises formost bare bone relese

otakunick review Binbougami ga!

wow gess I am rely getting back into the swing of things posting more and more reviews. Whats this not the 3rd one in less then a week oh well Il just keep this momentom going as much as I can. So yea todays review is Binbougami ga! a  Comedy, Parody, Supernatural from  Sunrise.

First things first the plot At the expense of the people and things around her, Sakura has absorbed so much "happiness energy" that she has caused an energy imbalance in the world. In order to return balance to the world, the Poverty God, Momiji, sets out to take away Sakura's ability to absorb this energy. Will Momiji be able to put a stop to Sakura's absorbing abilities, or will the God succumb to her happiness? This plot is farly bare bones to alow for mor gags and jokes. Thow from what I hear in the manga the story shifts from a Parody to more of a shonan fighting show. So if this show where to get a new season  I would exspect it to do the same witch may or may not hurt it in the long run but for now its just a funny story.

Like I sed befor this is a Sunrise anime witch is best know for well the gundam animes but also action, sci-fi animes in general. But they do a fine animation job on this show the fast pace antics of this anime seems to suit sunrises animation styles just fine. And the charter desings dont seem to have been changed all that much from the manga. Witch makes a fairly fathfull adaptation for on the hole.

The music is probly the week point of this show. Aside from fun Op and Ending shongs the sound track is rather bland just your basic scores. nothing thats gana make you go out and grab the OST.

But where the whare the sound track drops the ball the voice work picks it right back up. This has to be sum of the best Voice work Iv heard all year evry voice fits every charter 100% from  Momiji's crash and jaded scorn to to bobby's lecherous tones it just works who ever was incharge of fining the voice actors for this show should get a bonus for sending casting calls to just the right people.

Over all I rely enjoyed this anime I never once felt like I had to watch this and alwas cound my self looking foreword to each ep and if you if your a fan of over the top no stop funny anime like excel saga(but more cunsistint) then this is a anime for you .

otakunicks anime reviews (gundam unicorn ep4)`

Hey guys its me Otakunick and boy do i got a review for you. As you all know by now I am as big of a Gundam fan as it comes. I have seen every gundam anime and OVA that has come out in the last 30 odd years and I intend on watching every gundam that comes. So, you should have seen this one coming miles away so before i start rambling lets get into the review. Oh and one more thing I will be putting spoilers in this review so if you hate spoilers and have not seen the new ep of gundam unicorn go out and watch it then read the review.

Okay the story picks up right after the last Ep Audrey(AKA Mineve Zabi)had escaped to Earth with the help of Riddhe Marcenas. Who takes her to his father a big wig in the federation thinking he can help her only to find out his family is not so Nobel as he once thought. which causes some problems resulting in mineve running away only to have a talk with a diner owner which solidified her resolve on her next course of action. While at the same time Banagher has found himself in the company of Suberoa Zinnerman captain of the NEO Zeon ship from the last 3EPs. And for some time it looks like the captain had won Banagher over until the last battle of the EP were the two have a major falling out over the ethical implications of slaughtering a inter city along with the targeted base. Which ends with the two coming to blows with one another while captain Bright Noa leads a strike force to take down the NEO Zeon forces attacking said city. And as all this is going down Marida cruz (aka Ple Twelve) has been taken to anaheim electronics HQ in order to be used as a weapon in their new unicorn banshee

Now then with the story out of the way i get to talk about the series from a pure production standard and what can I say it looks and sounds just as good as the last 3 EPs there is nothing more. All i can say is brights new voice actor Narita, Ken was a good choice he really slipped into the role nicely sounding almost the same as Suzuoki, Hirotaka but went further giving bright some more age in his voice. Even though some will say its not needed as Unicorn is only set 3 years after chars Counterattack but none the less i liked it.

so that's really all i have to say another great installment of a good OVA and i cant wait for the next EP

otakunick anime reviews (Gundam Age)

Hey guys its me Otakunick like always and once again i got a new review for you today its Gundam Age. Now then Gundam Age is the newest series in the long running gundam franchise witch started back in 1979 with the original Mobile Suit Gundam and has now become one of the most well known anime in all of anime. But you guys did'int come hear for a history lesson on anime you came for a review.

Well to get started let me just say I will be doing the review for gundam age a bit diffident from other anime. Since the story crosses three generations of main charters i will be giving my basic thoughts on the show right now then I'll be doing a review when each of the generations ends and sum time after that I will review the show as a hole.

So lets get started with the story since I will be covering each generation of charters by them self's at the end i will only talk about the brooder story witch gos like this. It has been a few hundred years since humans began to live on space colonies. In A.G. 101, an unknown enemy (UE) "GAFRAN" suddenly attacks one of the colonies "Angel". A long war against UE has begun. I know its not much but let me say this acholy works well for the show. In fact is at this point in the show(I'm on EP 5 at the time of this review) we now nothing about the UE(Unknown Enemy) aside from that they have better tech then the federation. Now then with I am looking forward to seeing this world change and to see just how that change will effect the charters who live in it.

Ok now I am getting to the elephant in the room the art. It is probably no surprise to anyone when I say Gundam Age's art has been the cos of much heat on the net. But let me just say most of that heat is from US fans that think just because a show looks childish it will suck. And all I have to say to that is grow the fuck up okay Yes the art looks like Inazuma 11 but you know what it all so looks like Cyborg 009. Too me this art is a thow back to the old 70s more then anything els. so stop calling Age Gundam for babbys of kiddy gundam because you'r just makeing you'r self look like a ass

As for the music I like it I know that's not much coming from me the guy that dos'int seem to dislike any OST. But its true i do like the sound track of Age will i go out and buy it when it comes out no but I mite download the OP and in the end the sound track dos its job.

SO over all I say give Age a shot if you don't like it just drop it but please don't bash it just because you dont like it. Age is a perfectly good show yea it has its flaws but every show dos and this show is not the worse thing to happen to gundam G-saver is so just give it a chance. Niw with that sed please keep comeing back I' have a review for the first gen of Age when its all dune this has been Otakunick singing off

otakunick retro reviews (mugen no Ryvius )

hey guys its me again with all my free time i have now being a jobless bum i figerd why the hell not ceach up not only on the curent anime iv yet to watch but to go back and watch one iv been meening to see but never did well iv done just that by watching mugen no Ryvius a scifi anime from sunrise and directed by Taniguchi, Goro who was the Original Creator of code geass thow you would not know that just by watching the show in fact the only indastry big shot youl be abel to pin this on just by watching it would be the Character Designer Hirai, Hisashi who is best know for his work on gundam seed but he also did the Character Design for Kurogane no Linebarrels, Soukyuu no Fafner: Dead Aggressor and Scryed all of witch are better shows then gundam seed in my personal opinion

but lets face it the Character Design is not what makes this show worth watching its the story The year is AD 2225. Kouji Aiba and Aoi Housen are serving as astronauts in-training in Liebe Delta which is located on the edge of the Geduld Sea. When saboteurs with unknown intents suddenly strike during a routine dive procedure, the space station plummets into the Geduld, a plasma field that links all the planets like a nervous system and crushes any ship that strays too far into it. With all the adults onboard killed, the young astronauts will have to survive this long journey home in midst of the growing tension amongst each other( and when i say tension i meen it). Meanwhile the organizers of the sabotage look on and prepare to attack once more. its this story and how the dialog flows that going to make you want to keep watching this show how these kids act is the most realistic out of all other shows with similar themes

the sound track is okay not my Favorite but it gets the job dune and the hip hop overtone of it rely helps lighten the mood on sum of the more depressing eps the op would have to be my Favorite score from the sound track it rely fits the show and lets you know just what its all rely about and oddly enough dos not sound haff bad translated ether

now i know iv been singing this shows parse but thare are sum down falls two and one of them would have to be the voice acting for the most part its okay but having a cast that litaraly 99% under the age of 18 makes for sum rely squeaky and annoying voices now i know it fits for the cast but still even i did not sound as nasoly as haff this kids at 16 and i know this is one of thos well anime is not made for the US and i know that but comon i know sum Japanese people and they never sounded like that ether

and the animation can be a bit slopy at times but from a show made in 1999 it looks good not the best but defiantly passably so over all i have to say this is a watch and if you like it a buy witch cunsitering you can get all 26 eps for less then 25$ thats not a bad deal ofcorse for me even thats to much lol well till next time see you guys

otakunick gundam reviews (mobile suit gundam)

hey guys it me and yea im late at putting sum thing up again tho at lest this time its only by a coppel hours and not a day or two now for this weeks review i am doing another retro review because i have not finished the show i am watching and was plaining on reviewing because i have been to bissy getting redy to go away on my vacation this thursday but fear not i will be back befor the next post is sapost to go up and by then i will have sum thing good for you i think

so to minamise the amount of thinking i am starting a series of reviews on a a fanchise in witch i know just about everything gundam and i will be starting with the grandady of them all 0079

lets start off with the story Universal Century 0079: The Principality of Zeon has declared its independence from the Earth Federation, and subsequently launched a massive war of independence, a war which has raged in every continent on earth and in nearly every space colony and lunar settlement. The Zeon have the upper hand through their use of a revolutionary new type of weapon, their humanoid like mobile suits. When a Zeon recon team disobey mission orders and begin attacking Side 7 its citizens stumble across the Federations latest weapon: the Gundam. With the aid of Earth Federation soldiers stationed aboard the MS carrier White Base the newly formed crew of refugees set out to change the course of the One Year War — or die trying now for thos that have watched other gundams or hell many other mecha anime this mite sound fermiluer well thats becasue this is the story that has sponed the intier teal robot ganra of anime and is still omiged to this day

the art is your standerd late 70s art so if that art puts you off you mite whant to whait till gundam the origin comes out and thare are alot of funy animation blunders thew out but this was normel for the 70S

the music was good atlest good enuph for andrew w.k redo the intier soundtrack and good enuph for me to still listion to it

so all and all i say give it a watch but i do understand if you dint think youd like it because it is old

Gundam The Origin to be Animated

Okay everyone that reads this blog or listens to the podcast knows just how big of Gundam fans we hear at otakuhome are and while I don’t think I need to say that we had a negative reaction to Gundam Age because of the direction it took. It's decision to go for the younger demographic and in fact I even thought that sunrise was thinking of abandoning the fans that built up the studio to what it is now since all we've had for serious Gundams as of late was unicorn though great having to wait SEVERAL months at a time for the next ep is a killer. Fear not older Gundam fans we also get a new series much like the kids that will be watching Age now if you didn’t read the title (though I don’t know who wouldn’t read a title before reading a blog post) your probably asking yourself what’s the new gundam for older fans well I’ll tell you my friends as of today June 25th the "Gundam The Origin" manga has been given the green light for an anime. Yeah that’s right in this month’s Gundam Ace magazine sunrise has officially announced that "Gundam The Origin" will be getting an anime and this comes straight from the top from sunrises president Kenji Uchida himself.

Now then some of you who aren’t new fans of Gundam but aren’t exactly the oldest of fans are probably wondering just what is "Gundam The Origin" well it’s a serialized manga in Gundam Ace that started back in 2001 which retold the original gundams story with some slight differences. The real reason I’m so excited about this is because we will be getting a updated version of 0079 in which Gundam fans that want to know where Gundam started but can’t quite handle the old 70s art this is also the first time a Gundam anime will be getting a reboot from a manga.

As I already know the original story of Gundam I’m more looking forward to seeing the slight differences that the origin throws in there such as seeing how Char went from Casval Rem Deikun to Char Aznable and stuff like that. There are some things I’m worried about for instance two of the main characters VA'S from the original anime are no longer with us Hirotaka Suzuoki voice of Bright Noa who died on August 6, 2006 and Yumi Shitsukawa voice of Sayla Mass who died on February 28, 2003. Now some of you are probably thinking what’s the big deal can't they just recast them. In short, yes they can but these two VA have been considered the defacto voices for the characters for over 30 years recasting them could cause some major anger among the fans if it’s not done right, granted I still think Sunrise already knows this and is looking for VA's with the closest possible voices to the originals as they can. Also to illustrate a point during Zeta Gundam Yumi Shitsukawa (Sayla Mass) was on Safari in Africa so they rewrote the story to take her character out and change some events because they didn't want to replace her voice actress.

Now with all that said and done I hope you all will give this new anime a chance and look forward to a hopefully episodic review of Gundam The Origin.

first thoughts on nana to kaoru

hey guys i am back with the next anime i started in this new spring line up and today its ep one of a new OVA called you guessed it nana to kaoru now be for i get into this i must make a disclaimer this OVA is MA only so if your under the age of 18 this post is not for your eyes tho i will not be putting up any X rated IMG this OVA covers ideas not meant for young viewers and i clam  no responsibly if you don't heed my warning and get caught watching this

now with that out of the way the story is as fallowed
Kaoru is a 17-year old virgin who has an S&M fetish. He has always dreamt about an SM relationship with his childhood friend Nana, who is looked upon as perfect and is always the target of boys' eyes. Their relationship has somewhat deteriorated through the years, due to them hanging out with different people and because Kaoru is not taking his education too seriously.

One day though, Kaoru's mother gives some of his S&M toys to Nana for safekeeping - Nana finds the leather one-piece that Kaoru bought and tries it on but accidentally locks herself in it and doesn't have the key!

Kaoru frees her of the one-piece, but then Nana realizes she may like Kaoru's hobby more than she thought and subsequently the two of them start engaging in so-called "breathers". These breathers are intended to relieve Nana of stress, stress originating from her attempts at keeping her grades and her name perfect.

thats right every one this is a S&M OVA now you are probably wondering why the hall would i review this or even watch this and thow id have no problem telling you personally i feel its best if i refrain from that explanation and just focus on the facts of the OVA

now nana to kauro started out as a manga written by
Amazume, Ryuta who has written about 14 other manga all of witch deal with sex and discovering ones sexuality so as you can see this is not just a one time thing the writer thought would be a fun project Amazume is well versed and quite good at this type of story i for one have acholy picked up nana to kaoru's manga  resently and tho iv only read a chapter or so i can tell that the writer has don his resherch on the topic and is being vary therow

the OVA of nana to kauro is being produced by AIC Plus+ the same people that gavet us Asobi ni Iku yo!  and is being detected by
Okamoto, Hideki who oddly enough has detected a few personal Favorite's of mine such as After War Gundam X and Gasaraki so i am looking forwerd to see how he Handels a anime like this

now the art style of this OVA is sum thing you would probably be more used to seeing in a hentai but it is rely fathfully to the original art and i rely cod not pitcher it in any other style with a story like this you need a art style that can properly depict the human form with proper pa portions witch is exactly what this art dos

So now it comes down to weather or not I recommend this OVA and well I am a bit conflicted on this because yes this is pretty much a like hentai but then again there is NO sex in this unlike shows like Yosuga no Sora and the story is interesting so realy like Dog Days this is completely up to you personally i like this but my reasons for liking it are my own and i can't base a reccomendation on them so you will need to decide hopefully this post will help you do just that.

gundam 00 awakening of the trailblazer

dont let the name fool you becuse this movie awakened nuthing in fact it was quite bland over all and didint rely fell like a gundam movie espesholy twords the end

hers a quic run down of the story its about 2 years after the events of season 2 and the EFG(earth federation guverment) has set its sites beond earth and into deep space perparing the massiv space cruser Celestial Being for a intersteler voig but a masterus foow from juperter has difret plains atacking people who have the trats of inovaters

i know invaders from jupiter what is this nadesico sadly now you see this movie thow still good dusint feel anything like a gundam movie if they tuck the gundam out and replased then with any other giant robot you woodint be abel to tell the difrince this is juat your run of the mill sci-fi anime movie

now with my thouts on the story dune lets move on the the tech aspect on this movie it looks great i watched it 2 times once in 480P and once in 720P and i can say it look good in bolth high and low rezalution but if i had to chus id go with the 720P it looks slitely better then its 480P conterpart

i have to say i am a fan of the OST thar wer sum rely good songs and BGMs but then agen its rare for me not to like a OST as long as its not to hip hopy or popy il probly like it

im not a fan of the art style thow this is sumthing i neverd liked from season 1 in not a fan of bishoen chariter desings i just dont think they belong in gundam anime

so my final thouts are this isint sumthing you need to run out and see but at the same time you dont need to avode it like the plage this time it its just do as you feel i gave it a 8 becuse i just pretended i wasint watching gundam and watched it as any other sci-fi anime movie so do as you like

the love story of a man a women and 12 katanas

I know the title of the post is stupid but its rely the best way to discrib this OVA in under 12 words

okay guys I just finished what is quite pasably the best OVA I have ever watched it tuk a year to finish(as in the last ep was relesed this munth) and I rely did not whant it to end but as the saying go's all good things must come to a end I gess that go's for stuff as great as katanagatari as well

like I sed this OVA is great and thats manly due to its story witch comes from it being a OVA based on one of Nisio, Isin who is also the Author of the light novel
Bakemonogatari(it two have a rely good OVA) but the funny thing is if you where just going by the Synopsis of the OVA and had no prier info on ishin's other works you mite just look this over I know I almost did and if you dont beleve me read it for yourself
"A swordfight story taking place in Edo era (17th - 19th century). Yasuri Shichika is the seventh head of the Kyoutou school of Japanese sword martial arts and lives in Fushou Island with his sister Nanami. With the order from a female samurai general Togame, he sets out for a trip to collect the twelve treasured swords created by the legendary swordsmith Shikizaki Kiki."

if you wher going by this alone it just sounds like a ganaric samurai anime but the story in its full is so good that the first ep draws you in and dusint let go till well after the end credits of the last ep and to show you what I meen Im wrighting this review up at 2:10 AM EST and I finished this ep at 12:00 AM EST what have I been doing for thows 2 hours crying my fucking eyes out just thinking of what I whent thew watching this 12 ep OVA(amung other events that happend that will not be menchuned) in this last ep all the emotions I felt thew the 11 preveuse EPs just fluded back at the end of this the story for this OVA is so good I cant put it on a 1-10 rating Id have to use my good fraind cloudsoras rating scaland give this a 13 for OVAs I rely cant think of a OVA that has a story that even cpms close to katanagatari's and yes that includes gundam

but we all now a story alone dusint make a OVA good you also need a good cast and I have to say thar isint a singol cast member I ether didint like or at lest respected them for thar convictions and thats 30+ Characters but my absalut favrets are without a dout Shichika and togame oh god a anime reviewer that love tha main cast members thats new hate on me all you whant but this two just work off eachother so well even when this OVA gets dialog heviy (witch it duse alot) the faceol reactions and body jesters work so well that you cant help but get cout up in the moment and this is only added when you facter in thar persanalatys togame being the brains of the outfit and Shichika being the brons it rely just works manly becuse Shichika in the begining of the story is dumb as a sack of bricks when it come to comen nolige but yet still sarp as a take when it comes to fighting(call it the goku facter)and ofcorse with her great brain togame comes off as a know it all but I have to say its so fucking cute how she acts when shes acholy pruven wrong or when Shichika ponts out sumthing she missed so with persanalatys like this can you blame me for loveing them
(op1)

and speeking of loveing I absalutly love the sound trak of this OVA the OPs the ends the BGMs evry part of it is great the ops get you pumped for the ep from witch the BGMs draw you in to the story from how well they match the mood of the seen a well as do a good jobof merging into one a nother during a ep I can housitly say I cudint tell when one began and another ended they just blend so well and ofcorse the ending duse a great job of cooling your hot blood down after a great fight
(op2)

and I have to say thar are sum fucking great fights in this OVA even for being a dialog heviy show the scripting for the fight seens are top noch the animemation is smoth without any giters or random cut aways the battel dialog is ushaly straight forwerd and to the pont but at the same time with certen chariters have deeper meenings to them that make you think over all thar was not a singol fight I didint absalutly love

now despite how mutch prase Iv been singing about this OVA it duse have sum problemsfirst off yes its a vary dialog heviy show each ep is about a hour long and a good 60 to 80% of each ep is talking for me I rely didint care becuse I love the non fighting seens as mutch as the fighting ones but for the vewers hat are looking for a havy action show will probly not have the atenchun span to watch this OVA the next thing is the art yeat another think I absalutly love but I can see how sum people will be put off by the chariter desings as they are abnormol to say the lest so if your looking for chatiers that look as detalid as say monsters you defanetly will not be happy with the art

over all I have to say go and watch this OVA even if thars one or two things you may not like about it Im posativ you will find atlest 12 things you love(number pun fully intended) so mutch so that if it duse come to the US(witch I rely hope it duse) you will probly be like me and be whating outside whating for the mail to arive to get your copy of the blu-ray dics regardless of the weather now with that sed I must go now and marathon all 12 eps of this amazing OVA again
