OtakuNews Minna! Esper Dayo manga gets live action show

2013's first issue of Kodansha's Weekly Young Magazine is announcing on Monday that a live-action television adaptation of Kiminori Wakasugi's All Esper Dayo! (Minna! Esper Dayo!) manga has been green-lit. The psychic comedy follows an ordinary (virgin) high school boy named Yoshirō "Yocchan" Kamogawa. His life changes overnight when he wakes up with the ability to read other people's minds.

Yoshirō is not the only one to gain powers in his town. Teru-oichan, an (apparently virgin) worker at a café near Yoshirō's school, gains telekinesis — but he uses it for sex toys. Yōsuke Enomoto, a (probably virgin) senior and former basketball player at Yoshirō's high school, gains teleportation — but only while naked.

Wakasugi launched the manga in Weekly Young Magazine in 2009, shortly before he ended the popular comedy Detroit Metal City the following year. Kodansha has since published two compiled book volumes of All Esper Dayo!

Wakasugi's other ongoing comedy manga is the Fist of the North Star spoof Kappei. Viz Media published Detroit Metal City in North America, and New Pictures released Toshio Li's live-action film adaptation with Ken'ichi Matsuyama (Gantz, Death Note, NANA) in the lead role.

okay am I the only one that thinks that this live action project will turn out to be one of thows WTF japan shows.Im still intarested in how this will turn out and it seems to have sum good talent behind it but still two of the charters just make the show seem like alot of weird stuff is going to go down

otaku news we may get more gundam rage(age) in one form or another

The official Twitter account for the Mobile Suit Gundam AGE anime posted a rough sketch of the characters Asemu and Zeheart by designer Michinori Chiba on Wednesday. According to producer Masakazu Ogawa, the staff is considering plans for presenting more of the two characters' story in some form. The staff did not say that more anime has been green-lit. Chiba drew this sketch for these tentative plans, which Ogawa previously mentioned in September.

Asemu was the main character of the second generation in Mobile Suit Gundam AGE anime, and Zeheart was a major antagonist of his. The television series premiered in October of 2011, and it ended on September 23, 2012, shortly before Ogawa mentioned the tentative plans.

okay I know the show rely went down hill in the latter part of the last genaration and the second gen rely didint get much. so please dont hate me for hopeing that we do get more of the seconed genartion in anime form. out of all three I think the 2nd gen had the most potenchal out of the three to do sum cool stuff. But being that it was the 2nd gen it rely didint get the love it deserved. so Im going to be optamistic about this okay guys.

otakunew Louis Vuitton is going to Designs Hatsune Miku's Costume for a Opera?

For THE END opera that will be held on December 1 and 2 at the Yamaguchi Center for Arts and Media in Yamaguchi City, director Toshiki Okada and digital music artist Keiichirō Shibuya decided to collaborate with French fashion brand Louis Vuitton. Louis Vuitton artistic director Marc Jacobs is designing the outfits that Vocaloid idol character Hatsune Miku will wear onstage.

No humans will appear onstage during the opera, even to play the instruments. Instead, Vocaloids will take their place, taking over every aria and recitative. The "actors'" onstage images are designed by artist YKBX (also known as Masaki Yokobe), who is known for his video "amazarashi." Shohei Shigematsu, an architect and a partner of OMA New York, is designing the stage.

The clothes Hatsune Miku will wear are clothes based off of Mark Jacobs' spring/summer 2013 collection that were altered in order to fit the virtual singer's body type and unique style. As this is the very first time that outfits from Louis Vuitton will lack the label's signature monogram symbol, the outfits will instead be using a pattern similar to the Louis Vuitton's familiar diamond pattern. The purses have been altered from the standard Louis Vuitton bag into cubical and square shapes to accentuate to the geometric themes.

Tickets were available for pre-order for 3,000 yen (about US$37), but were sold out as of November 14.  you know I rely cant wate to see how this turns out I hope they sell coppys of the praformense cose i think I am going to whant one

otakunews Seed Destiny getting a HD remaster too

The official live stream of the 50th and final episode of the Mobile Suit Gundam Seed HD Remaster Project ended with an announcement on Friday of an HD Remaster Project for the Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny anime.

The Gundam Seed HD Remaster began streaming on the Bandai Channel service last December before running on the BS11 satellite channel and the Tokyo MX TV station this year. The fourth Mobile Suit Gundam Remaster box will be released in Japan on December 21 with a price of 15,485 yen (about US$191).

I dont know about you guys but I rely do think this is a big wast of bandais money. The seed franchis is no ware as big as it once was and even if they only do a bare minimum of upscale like they did for the first seed remaster this will probly cost more then it could bring in. That is unless for sum reson there is a massive group of seed fans perficly willing to get riped off by paying outrageus prises formost bare bone relese

otakunick reviews Abenobashi Mahou Shoutengai (Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi)

Hey guys otaku nick hear with a new review today its Abenobashi Mahou Shoutengai or as its beter known hear in the US Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi. Now befor we get to the brake down let me just say I love this show back when I was in middle school my lintier week revolved around getting home and looking thew OnDemands anime network for the new episode I loved this show. and it acholy was not till a year latter that I leered why I loved it so much you see this is a co-production by sum of my favret studios gainax and madhouse thats right the same two studios that respectivly gave us Evangelion and black lagoon worked to geather to make this show

the story is as fallows Imamiya Satoshi, "Sasshi" to his friends, has grown up in the Abenobashi Shopping Arcade in Osaka, along with his childhood friend, Asahina Arumi. Now, all that was stable in his life is in ruins. His family's bath house has closed and been torn down, and Arumi's family is moving to Hokkaido - and taking her with them. In the midst of all this, something happens to the framework of reality, and Sasshi and Arumi slip into a weird parallel world. It's still Abenobashi, but not their Abenobashi. Strange things are afoot, and Sasshi must find out their meaning, in order to reach a goal that he barely understands. Now then I know this dosint sound as good as Im makeing it out to be but trust me when I say that this story is good in fact Id say the energy of this show is more akin to gainaxes FLCL that aird one year erlyer

the are is well prbly the weekest part of the show dot get me wrong for the most part the art could stand up to anything that came out this year but I can only say that because I am a fan on the lat 90s and early 2000s art styles but I do get that the mix of realistic  traits and exaggerated ones in anime has long fallen out of favor its normally one or the other now a days but for this show and all the weird stuff that happens it rely good to have a mix of the two

music is your standard affair for a comedy for its time up beet and energetic but one this still pops into my head all the time when thinking of this show and that its opening this was the first anime I watch witch had a oping that didint just souns like it was made for the show but was a song in and of it self witch for me up to that time was unheard of please note back then I was manly watching anime from the 60s and 70s so most ops where in fact made for the shows and even the 90s anime had yet to rely brake that habit.

Now for the voice work I know this is probly going to get me plenty of flack but I am a big fan of the ENG dub of this show. I have watched in both English and Japanese but I thing the ENG dub just has a bit more to offer in the comedy department. But both versions are good I myself just like the ENG version more.

But yea over all i say give this one a look for its time it was funny as hell. Tho I will admite that the jokes may fall flate in this day and age but I rely dont care as no mater how many time i wath this show I allways find sumthing to laugh at.

otaku news Noboru Yamaguchi back in the hospital

Zero no Tsukaima (The Familiar of Zero) author Noboru Yamaguchi reported on Sunday that he has been readmitted into a hospital for another surgery. He had just returned to work, and he wanted to resume his Zero no Tsukaima novels at the beginning of next year. However, he thinks this is now unfeasible and apologized to his readers for the wait. He vowed to continue writing when his health returns "no matter what," and thanked everyone for the words of encouragement.

Yamaguchi had confirmed last year that he had advanced-stage cancer that was originally considered inoperable. However, during an unrelated gallstone surgery, the cancerous growth was confirmed to have shrunk in size. Yamaguchi then learned that there was surgery that he could have that might cure the cancer. He reported later that August that this surgery ended without incident.

He returned to the hospital at the end of last year and spent Christmas Eve there since his health was not back to normal yet. However, he left the hospital and was planning to resume his work this year.

Yamaguchi had been writing the final series arc of the Zero no Tsukaima light novels, and had planned to end the light novels this year before his cancer diagnosis and subsequent operation. Zero no Tsukaima F, the fourth and final anime series premiered this past January.

I dont know about you guys but I rely feel bad for yamaguchi. All the man whants is to get back to work and when ever it looks like he will be able to his health just drops like a rock in the ocean. I myself havent read his light novels but I have watched the anime based off his work including green green witch is a show I reviewed right hear. So I hope youl all be with me in wiching MR yamaguchi a speedy recovery.

Up on Poppy Hill played at the same theater on Friday as part of the GKids Animation Showcase. GKids has submitted the film for consideration in the 85th Academy Awards category of Best Animated Picture.

GKids is also showing a special sneak preview of A Letter to Momo on Saturday at 9:45 p.m. at the same theater.

You know guys this is the second story Iv posed this month about anime movies being shown hear in US theaters. And gess what just like the modaka movies Im not going to be able to go see this one ether because I live in Massachusetts insted of california. Its not rely that big of a deal in the long run But it rely just gets to me sumtimes you know. MA is home to one of the USAs largest anime conventions around but when it comes time to show a anime they chose plases that dont rely make much seces to me. But what ever anime Boston is more of a compasation for this little upset.

otakunews J-Cast: Gainax Not Contacted About Victoria Secret's Evangelion plug suit Lookalike

The J-Cast Japanese website reported on Thursday that Gainax indicated that it had not been contacted by Victoria's Secret regarding the Evangelion lookalike outfit (pictured at right) that model Jourdan Dunn wore during the 2012 Victoria's Secret Fashion show held in New York City on November 7. J-Cast added that Gainax only learned about the outfit from the Internet and was perplexed by the situation.

The annual event features the undergarment and lingerie chain's "Angels" models showing off the company's latest designs accompanied by popular musical artists. The fashion show will air in the United States on CBS on December 4 at 10:00 p.m. EST/9:00p.m. CST.

Victoria's Secret has yet to make an official comment to the press on the issue. I dont know about you guys but I absalutly love news like this. consitering thars is no way in hell that Victoria's Secret can even try to denie the resemblence of there new product to Reis plug suit from gainax's  Evangelion anime wich mind you came out in the 90s. meeing that the designer knew exsactly what he or she was doing witch rely puts Victoria's Secret in a place they probly rather not be in cunsitering evangelions popularity. I will be shore to report on any new develaments for this storys that I can find as I myself would like to know what going to happen from this point on.

OtakuNick reviews kokoro connect

Hey guys otakunick hear befor I get to the review I would like to point out the ads yes I have found other ad revenue services other then google. So if you can spare sum time please click on one or two every now and then to help me out. If enuph of you do this on a daly dases i could acholy make this blog my full time job witch truth be told would be great but thats rely just a pipe dream. also please let me know what you think of the news storys and just what storys i should keep my eye out for as I sift thew hundreds of them a day so if you let me know what you whant to see Il know what to look for.

Anyway to the review kokoro connect first aired in japan last summer but thanks to a story synopsis that truth be told sucked I over looked it. In fact if not for my good friend cloudsora (co host of the podcast yes thats still alive just hard to get everyone togeather) I would have never even picked the show up. But Il say this now I am so happy my friend watched it then tell me it was good because that is just it this show is rely good.

The story fallows five members of a schools Cultural Research Club - Taichi Yaegashi, Iori Nagase, Himeko Inaba, Yui Kiriyama, and Yoshifumi Aoki  who encounter a bizarre phenomenon one day when Aoki and Yui switch bodies without warning. The same begins to happen to the other club members, throwing their daily lives into disarray.

the first think youl probly notes in the anime is the art the Character Design and for good reson. you see the Character Design for kokoro connect was also done by the same person that did the Character Design for K-on a one Horiguchi, Yukiko and Id like to remind everyone she also did the Character Design for one of my personnel favrets lucky star. so yea the arts nice

Now you all know Im not one to rely dewll on music and Im not going to sit hear and type on about sumthing that is so completly subjectiv that reviewing it rely seems poitless. But I liked the sound track it did its job portraing the mood of each seen and wasint to intrusiv seeing as this is a show whare youd rather hear the charters talk rather then the music is a good thing.

And speeking of hearing the charters talk I must now talk about just how great of a job the voice cast did on this not only did they get into there own charters but when playing other charters there pulled it off perfectly. And truth be told I do not see any ENG dub cast being able to pull this off. Dont get me wrong I dont heat dubs but in the resent years the number of good dubs are far out shined by the number of bad ones. So when and if this show comes to the US I hope the person in charge of casting rely stops and thinks about this as casting a good voice crew will ether make or brake this show.

but over all I have to say I am a fan of kokoro connect its got good art a good OST and a great voice cast to sport interesting the insightful story.

Althow I will give them one thing it looks to me like they are using the Blu ray for there master so atlest it will look better thern the first run in japan did

otaku news(Lucky Star's Washinomiya Shrine Hosts Moe Festival)

Hey guys ots me otakunick I know my posting has been speratic at best and thats manly due to the lack of rely intrest in just review anime week after week so I figered I would try sum thing new by trying suming old lol thats right its the return of my storys from japan posts witch have been renamed the otaku news but for thows thathavent been with me from the start let e fill you in back when I was just getting started with otaku home I prodomanetly posted weird and wakky storys that came out of japan after that I got into reviewing and we all know whare that ended up so yes now il be posting reviews when I dont have any fun news to report

this weeks post comes to use from our good friends at anime news network

The annual "Moe Fes" festival celebrating moe subculture was held on November 3 at the Washinomiya Shrine in Saitama prefecture.

16 people participated in the first event of the festival, the "Yell Out Your Moe in the Heart of Washimiya" event, where participants yelled out confessions and statements about moe on stage. One man yelled, "Kagami, marry me!" Another female middle-school student yelled, "What's so bad about being rotten?!," a reference to the word fujoshi, which literally means "rotten woman" and can refer to female otaku in general.

The yearly festival, which is free, launched in 2009 and is now held every autumn. More than 50 people from outside of the prefecture participated in the event. Other events for this year's festival included "Itasha of the Year" (itasha are decorated cars), and an impersonation contest. The festival also hosted a "Moelympics" event, which included athletic events such as a relay race, a tug-of-war contest, a three-legged race, an obstacle race, and a jump-rope parade.

The Washinomiya Shrine was used as the basis for a location in Kyoto Animation's 2007 television adaptation of Kagami Yoshimizu's manga Lucky Star. It has since become a popular destination for anime fans, who make "pilgrimages" to the shrine. The Kuki City neighborhood that also served as the backdrop the series has been hosting Lucky Star match-making events for otaku since 2010, and the neighborhood held another event earlier this year.
