otakunicks anime reviews (2X2=Shinobuden)

Yea Yea I know this is not what you thought you would get after I missed my post deadline. Well sorry guys fining work comes before theses posts so you will have to deal with a review of a older anime for know.

Anyway the story of this anime is well I think I will let you guys desied on weather it is good or not. Kaede is a normal school girl who was studying for her exams for school when suddenly she is interrupted by Shinobu, a girl who is a ninja-in-training, attempting to complete her exam. The problem is, in order for her to successfully complete her exam, she must steal one of Kaede's panties!

In Kaede's attempt to stop Shinobu from stealing her panties, an unexpected friendship is forged between the two. Kaede soon becomes engrossed in Shinobu's world, surrounded by partying ninjas and a yellow pac-man like thing by the name of Onsokumaru, who claims to be the master of all ninjas! Yea I know not much set up for a anime well that is because its just one running gag you cud replace ninjas with anything and it would have the same feel just think of the story as a way to set the charters up for jokes that is all its relay thare for any way

as for the art what can i say its a anime from 2004 when sadly CG anime probably looked its worse but it dose have its moments. And the music tho corny as hell fits the show witch is all I relay ask for.

So over all I'ed give it a pass this is not rely sum thing anyone rely needs to go out and see but if you got sum time to kill you cud watch a lot worse.

otakunicks anime reviews (gundam unicorn ep4)`

Hey guys its me Otakunick and boy do i got a review for you. As you all know by now I am as big of a Gundam fan as it comes. I have seen every gundam anime and OVA that has come out in the last 30 odd years and I intend on watching every gundam that comes. So, you should have seen this one coming miles away so before i start rambling lets get into the review. Oh and one more thing I will be putting spoilers in this review so if you hate spoilers and have not seen the new ep of gundam unicorn go out and watch it then read the review.

Okay the story picks up right after the last Ep Audrey(AKA Mineve Zabi)had escaped to Earth with the help of Riddhe Marcenas. Who takes her to his father a big wig in the federation thinking he can help her only to find out his family is not so Nobel as he once thought. which causes some problems resulting in mineve running away only to have a talk with a diner owner which solidified her resolve on her next course of action. While at the same time Banagher has found himself in the company of Suberoa Zinnerman captain of the NEO Zeon ship from the last 3EPs. And for some time it looks like the captain had won Banagher over until the last battle of the EP were the two have a major falling out over the ethical implications of slaughtering a inter city along with the targeted base. Which ends with the two coming to blows with one another while captain Bright Noa leads a strike force to take down the NEO Zeon forces attacking said city. And as all this is going down Marida cruz (aka Ple Twelve) has been taken to anaheim electronics HQ in order to be used as a weapon in their new unicorn banshee

Now then with the story out of the way i get to talk about the series from a pure production standard and what can I say it looks and sounds just as good as the last 3 EPs there is nothing more. All i can say is brights new voice actor Narita, Ken was a good choice he really slipped into the role nicely sounding almost the same as Suzuoki, Hirotaka but went further giving bright some more age in his voice. Even though some will say its not needed as Unicorn is only set 3 years after chars Counterattack but none the less i liked it.

so that's really all i have to say another great installment of a good OVA and i cant wait for the next EP

its been a long time coming but we finally get it a new Kenshin OVA

So yea I think I have posted be for that Rurouni Kenshin was getting remade into a OVA well I know have sum more info.

The production company Aniplex confirmed on Saturday that the previously announced new Rurouni Kenshin anime series will be a two-part Shin Kyoto-Hen (New Kyoto Arc) original video anime series. The first part will play in Japanese theaters in December.

The new anime series will remake the Kyoto story arc of Nobuhiro Watsuki's original manga and the previous anime adaptation. In particular, it will depict the battle of Kenshin Himura and Makoto Shishio and will be told from the point of view of the Oniwabanshū ninja Misao Makimachi. Director Kazuhiro Furuhashi and Studio DEEN are returning to animate the new series along with musical composer Noriyuki Asakura. Mari Okada (AnoHana, Wandering Son) is writing the scripts this time. Hiromitsu Hagiwara (Saint Beast ~Ikusen no Hiru to Yoru Hen~) is the new character designer, and Hiro Kaburaki (Kimi ni Todoke) will take over as the episode director. The cast will remain the same except for the role of Hajime Saitō, who will be played by Ken Narita(Jeremiah Gottwald code geass).

Now then i was hoping for a full remake that would cover not only this arc but the arcs befor and after this one but oh well best not look a gift horse in the mouth. And who knows maybe if this OVA gos well they will make the jinchu arc of the manga into a ova then we will have the full story more or less.Thare is a preview that is up of aniplex's site if you would like to see it just click the lick

otakunick anime reviews (Gundam Age)

Hey guys its me Otakunick like always and once again i got a new review for you today its Gundam Age. Now then Gundam Age is the newest series in the long running gundam franchise witch started back in 1979 with the original Mobile Suit Gundam and has now become one of the most well known anime in all of anime. But you guys did'int come hear for a history lesson on anime you came for a review.

Well to get started let me just say I will be doing the review for gundam age a bit diffident from other anime. Since the story crosses three generations of main charters i will be giving my basic thoughts on the show right now then I'll be doing a review when each of the generations ends and sum time after that I will review the show as a hole.

So lets get started with the story since I will be covering each generation of charters by them self's at the end i will only talk about the brooder story witch gos like this. It has been a few hundred years since humans began to live on space colonies. In A.G. 101, an unknown enemy (UE) "GAFRAN" suddenly attacks one of the colonies "Angel". A long war against UE has begun. I know its not much but let me say this acholy works well for the show. In fact is at this point in the show(I'm on EP 5 at the time of this review) we now nothing about the UE(Unknown Enemy) aside from that they have better tech then the federation. Now then with I am looking forward to seeing this world change and to see just how that change will effect the charters who live in it.

Ok now I am getting to the elephant in the room the art. It is probably no surprise to anyone when I say Gundam Age's art has been the cos of much heat on the net. But let me just say most of that heat is from US fans that think just because a show looks childish it will suck. And all I have to say to that is grow the fuck up okay Yes the art looks like Inazuma 11 but you know what it all so looks like Cyborg 009. Too me this art is a thow back to the old 70s more then anything els. so stop calling Age Gundam for babbys of kiddy gundam because you'r just makeing you'r self look like a ass

As for the music I like it I know that's not much coming from me the guy that dos'int seem to dislike any OST. But its true i do like the sound track of Age will i go out and buy it when it comes out no but I mite download the OP and in the end the sound track dos its job.

SO over all I say give Age a shot if you don't like it just drop it but please don't bash it just because you dont like it. Age is a perfectly good show yea it has its flaws but every show dos and this show is not the worse thing to happen to gundam G-saver is so just give it a chance. Niw with that sed please keep comeing back I' have a review for the first gen of Age when its all dune this has been Otakunick singing off

otakunick anime reviews (Macross Frontier: sayonara tsubasa)

Hey guys its me Otakunick and boy do i have a treat for all my readers that are Macross fans. Well atlest the ones that don't think frontier is a steaming heap of shit. That's tight the second of the new Macross F movies has found its way to me and i have to say i rely did love it.

First off lets talk plot picking up from where the previous movie left off, Ranka's star career flourishes while Sheryl's health rapidly deteriorates after collapsing during a live performance. At the same time, separate factions are maneuvering behind the scenes seeking to control the Vajra horde by utilizing the singing abilities of the two songstresses. As the entire Macross Frontier fleet begins to wage the final war on the Vajra, Alto finally makes a choice between Ranka and Sheryl. That's right the princess himself makes up his mind ending what has probly been the most fought over love triangle in Macross history. Who dose his pick you ask well that's sum thing you'l have to see for you'r self or just go for 4chans /m/ bored thy have been biching and moaning about it since last night.

The art just like the last movie is great but not without its hick-ups. On more then one occasion i notest charter models that just did not look right. Granted it was not all the time but even so in this day and age you rely should not have problems like that especially in a movie of one of animes most well known franchises.

And what do you want me to say about the music its a fucking Macross movie its going to be great. Hell there are only three things that rely defines the hole franchise and that fighter jets that turn into robots badly resolved love triangles and great music. And even tho they acholy fixed the love triangle part that dos not mean the music is going to suck. Infact this movie's sound track just scored a place in my list of best sound tracks of the year right below skyrims OST.

So all and all i say check this out if you have seen the first movie. Because let me say you will not get it if you only watched the anime the story from these two moves and the anime cud not be any further apart unless you changed the charter models and names. and if you have not seen the first movie go find it and watch it now. Untill next time this has been otalunick saying i wish i had a YF-19

otakunick anime reviews (Un-Go)

Hey guys it's me Otakunick here with a brand new anime review for you guys. I know its about damn time I review a new anime and not just old shit iv watched years ago right. Well then how about we get right into it with the story.

"UN-GO" is a full-fledged detective story about a detective and handsome boy combo who tackle the world's most difficult crimes together for reasons of their own.

The profession of private detective fell out of favor long ago, and yet, that's how the young man, Shinjurou Yuuki identifies himself. With his superior deductive powers, Shinjurou solves various challenging cases. Meanwhile, Inga, an attractive young lad, serves as Shinjurou's "buddy". But contrary to his cute looks, he's a sharp, arrogant rogue. Why Inga sticks with Shinjurou is as yet unknown.

The setting of the story is a postwar, future Tokyo that still bears the scars of war. Ruling the land is Media King Rinroku Kaishou, who through politics and industry has the communications infrastructure under his thumb. Kaishou has used a clear head and the massive amount of information at his fingertips to lead to the solution of a great number of cases. But there's an underside to Kaishou's brilliant deduction work, which is that Shinjurou Yuuki, "the Last Great Detective", is the one who actually uncovered "the truth" in those cases.

However, the public doesn't know this and thus refers to Shinjurou as the "Defeated Detective". Still, Shinjurou, together with Inga, can't help but search for the truth. so yea I may not have sed this befor but i like detective storys. But for the most part the ones i watch are made in the west so i was rely pulled in when i heard about Un-Go. And let me say this story is great they mix things up by adding bulth supernatural and sci-fi elements to make for a rely compelling story.

The art as a vary persona-esc feel to it at lest with the leads. With if I say so myself can be a bit weird when compared to the more normal charter designs that almost every other charter has. Now then don't get me wrong its not that big of a deal but I prefer to see things to be uniform when it comes to charter dosing. So if you have the main charter look like he came from a persona game then the whole cast shud as well.

The voice work is good cant say i have any real grips with it. But at the same time its not rely wowing me. So basically its just good voice actors doing good work nothing more nothing less. Same with the sound track its not all that great but at the same time its not taking home the worst OST ever award ether.

So all and all i say id you like s good PI story pick this anime up its competently done with sum good art and ok music. But remember if you pic it up do so for the story and the script because that is where this anime rely shines.

moving is such a bitch but at lest i still have working season 2

hey guys I'm back after moving hear to NH and i must say moving is a bitch i never knew just how much crap i owned till i had to pack it all away and then unpack it again the new place is great tho plenty of space and lookg great not to Menuhin its a lot more peaceful then my old place so when i get around to doing a new EP of the pod cast there will not be as many distractions and interruptions tho there will have to be a cast switch up you will still hear curt rich tylor and brenden but more often then not you will be hearing me and nate more then all of us but il tire to get them on as much as posabel now then iv yet to give you guys a review on a new show for sum time so how about i let you guys now how i feel about working!! season 2

what can i say it picks up right ware it left off and makes you feel like it had not even left just like ika masume witch just like ika masume is probably the best thing about this show even more then the art music or even the Voice work witch is a real credit to Takatsu, Karino the Original Creator who has only written working and nothing else as fare as i can find out

thare has not been any additions to the cast instead for now they seem to be focusing on sum of the cast that had not gotten as much of the spot light as others in the last season like Takanashi, Izumi one of Takanashi, Souta sisters she praticly gets a full EP to herself witch i rely liked the fact that they are going this way with the story it will alow them to get more from the cast latter on

art musiv and voice work are all about the same as last season pritty good with sum that rely stand out such as Popura Taneshima's Asumi, Kana best known for her work as Tachibana, Miya in aragami SS, Aoi Yamada's Hirohashi, Ryou better known as clannads Fujibayashi, Kyou and ofcorse Jun Satou's Ono, Daisuke who sud forget Koizumi, Itsuki from haruhi or shizuho from durarara and ofcorse the little camio he did as himself on lucky star

over all im saying if you watched season one then youl probably like to watch this as well and if you havent check season one out if you like it finish it then give season two a spin untill next time please keep reading

otakunick anime reviews (Alien nine)

hey guys otakunick hear with a new review now then all my reviews for a bit will be old anime iv watched because iv yet to settel into my new place so once i do i will be back to watching and reviewing new anime but un till then alien nine

Yuri Ootani, a girl who has been afraid of aliens, has been chosen to be on the alien party with the class president Kumi Kawamura, whose only intention to join the alien party is to get out of presidential duties, as well as Kasumi Tomine who is perfect at everything she does, including fighting all the aliens that come in their way. But can they defeat a massive alien who has already abducted Kasumi? now then i know it dos not sound to interesting but it is pretty good in fact its only real problem is its not the full story around ep 3 they intraduse a rely interesting idea but dos nothing with it thats because this anime stops befor it deals with it witch is rely its only draw back

the animation is a hand draw style but vary nicely detaled the music is fun and fits with the anime quorky story sadly i cant talk to you about the JAP dub because I have only watched the ENG but as ENG dubs go this one is not haff bad not the beast but not clannad ENG dub bad eather

so all and all id say this would be a dos not add on to your colection but at the same time i would not go running out and grab no mater the price sruch around and find a good price befor getting it

hachi a dogs tale

hey guys its me otakunick and i am hear with sum thing i do not normally do a movie review and not just any movie no this is probly the best movie iv seen in a long time and i am not ashamed to say thew out the inter third act i was crying my eyes out it was that touching

the story is sum thing most anime fans have heard but be for i give the synopsis of the movie let me just inform every one that dos not know about hachiko the dog In 1924, Hidesaburō Ueno, a professor in the agriculture department at the University of Tokyo, took in Hachikō as a pet. During his owner's life, Hachikō greeted him at the end of each day at the nearby Shibuya Station. The pair continued their daily routine until May 1925, when Professor Ueno did not return. The professor had suffered from a cerebral hemorrhage and died, never returning to the train station where Hachikō was waiting. Every day for the next nine years the golden brown Akita waited at Shibuya station.
The permanent fixture at the train station that was Hachikō attracted the attention of other commuters. Many of the people who frequented the Shibuya train station had seen Hachikō and Professor Ueno together each day. They brought Hachikō treats and food to nourish him during his wait.
This continued for nine years with Hachikō appearing precisely when the train was due at the station Hachikō died on March 8, 1935, and was found on a street in Shibuya. After decades of rumors, in March 2011 scientists settled the cause of death of Hachikō. The dog had terminal cancer and a filaria infection (worms). There were also four yakitori sticks in Hachikō's stomach, but the sticks did not damage his stomach or cause his death Hachikō's stuffed and mounted remains are kept at the National Science Museum of Japan in Ueno, Tokyo

now the movie witch was made in 2009 dos not take place in japan but the theme of love and loyalty remand strong thew out the film Richard Gere plays Parker Wilson who is taking the place of Hidesaburō Ueno and hachi is played buy probably one of the cutest akidas i have seen and is almost a exsact look alike to his names sake and the way they work together in the film is amazing and i have to say this is a must see for any one and every one this rely shows just how loyal a dog can be and makes me proud to be a dog lover so go out and get this movie today

Wednesday, September 28, 2011

you got to be squiding me lol

that is right every ones Favorite squid-girl is back for a second season and i have to say Shinryaku!? Ika Musume picks up like it had never left witch this review loves a lot of anime that get a second season do tend to start off right war the last season left off but vary few can acholy make you feel like you had only watched the end of the last season last week and how dos Shinryaku!? Ika Musume pull this off well its all thanks to the way the EP are set up each EP contains two to three small storys and is largely episodic so the viewer can pick up any ware and just watch

as for the are it also picks up from the first season with art being vary clean and color full witch has been the calling card for Character Designer Ishikawa Masakazu for years know Ishikawa probly best known for being the Character Designer and Chief Animation Director for the controversial anime Kodomo no Jikan but i know him best from his Key Animation on Zone of the Enders: Idolo (witch i will be reviewing on a latter date when i can rewatch it and its conter part doloris I again)

the sound track is still good as well nothing to rely get hung up about it dos its job the only thing i dont like is the op dont get me wrong its good but i just feel the first seasons op was much better

there are no new cast members as of yet witch works in the shows fever because it alowed the cast witch has alredy gotten to now each and work with each other time to get back into the swing of things ad i have to say Kanemoto, Hisako as Ika Musume is still as cute as ever

so if you have not alredy picked up the second season of Shinryaku!? Ika Musume not shore if it will be as good as the first as of right now i can say you will not need to worry about that this second season is shaping up to be just as good as the first

otakunick anime reviews (Blassreiter)

hey guys yea i know i was sapost to have this out yesterday but lets face it shit happens so il be doing the review today and oddly enough its a review of a nother nito+ anime

Blassreiters story is set in a fictional Germany and centers around the outbreak of biomechanical creatures named "Demoniacs", who rise from corpses and attack people mindlessly. The Demoniacs have the ability to merge with most technology including cars and motorcycles, not only gaining control of them but also enhancing their performance greatly. Against them is a group of people known as XAT, Xenogenesis Assault Team, who police these Demoniacs in an attempt to keep the peace and discover the reasons for the "Demoniac" change. All the while, a number of human-turned-Demoniacs appear. Some use their powers for good whilst others for evil. One will rise above all other Demoniacs to become the "Blassreiter".

the music of this show rely is not the best but it dos its job the art is also rely just ok nutting that rely stands out Sept for mabby one or 2 of the Demoniacs desings its rely just the story that holds you in you want to watch the next ep to see just how much more the world can shit on the cast wich i do have to say work rely well togeather more so then i origanaly thout they would

over all i have to say this anime is worth watching buying on the other hand not so much my sagestion is watch it on netflix you can get the intier series

otakunick anime reviews (Steins;Gate)

hey guys its me and i am back with a new review of a show that has just ended and i have to say this anime almost got a perfect score if not for slight repetitiveness witch comes with the consept of the show its self

and speaking of the story its probably one of the more Original storys out there witch is funny because it was adapted from a game so without any more stalling Steins;Gate is set in the summer of 2010, approximately one year after the events that took place in Chaos;Head(yea this is another nock agents the show its a spiral successer to chaos;head but thankfully dos not point it out), in Akihabara.

Steins;Gate is about a group of friends who have customized their microwave into a device that can send text messages to the past. As they perform different experiments, an organization named SERN, who has been doing their own research on time travel, tracks them down and now the characters have to find a way to avoid being captured by them. like i sed pretty Original

the sound track is pretty good as well i rely like the op i never skip it and any time Gate of steiner comes on i have a hard time concentrating to the story because the song just sounds so good with hapens with a few songs beside it witch is another nock agest it thow just a slight one because over all the series is interesting enough to conteract the OST

as for the art Huke dos the Original Character Design if his name sounds familiar to you thats because he did the Original Character Design for the black rock shooter OVA and will be doing the Character Design for the black rock shooter anime when it comes out this winter

so over all this is a great anime probably one of Nitro+ best story's so i say give it a tire if you have not already

Tuesday, September 6, 2011

otakunick anime reviews (soukou no strain)

hey guys its me again hear to bring you another review of a anime i just finished thanks to netflix called souko no strain a mecha anime from 2006 and i have to say i liked it its not the best anime ever but its defanetly a good watch

one thing it rely has going for it is the story In the distant future, mankind is divided into two factions: Union and Deague. They have waged a war against each other for so long that no one remembers when it first began. The backbone of the Union military is the manned weapons system Strain, while the Deague uses an unmanned version, the Tumoru.

Sara Werec, the daughter of a respectable family, is a 16-yearold girl who attends Grapera Space Armed Soldier Academy located in the Cranial Solar System, where she is training to become a full-fledged Reasoner (a Strain pilot).

Her brother, Ralph Werec, had been sent to the frontline 130 light-years away to accomplish a special mission when she was 11 years old, a distance that requires 400 years of objective time to traverse by even the fastest Union spacecraft. However, in accordance with the theory of relativity, this corresponds to only two subjective years (time as experienced by those within the spacecraft).

The two of them had lost their parents when they were young and the bond between the two is very close. It is Sara’s dearest wish to be reunited with her brother. To do that, she must travel to the battlefield where he is.

One day, Sara’s planet is suddenly assaulted by Deague forces. To her surprise, her brother, Ralph, turns out to be one of the raiders who successfully kidnap a mysterious girl sleeping in a capsule.

In order to find the truth, Sara gets in a Strain and chases after him yea this anime has alot it rely what to say sadly with only 13 eps we rely never get a good look at the world at larg it rely just focuses on the main cast but because of that we get a rely tight story that works well id just like to learn more about the world the story takes place in is all

the cast is a good one with realistic emotions and reactions to high stress sichuwations involving war and lose of life witch is nice to see as for the desing of the cast well its 2006 when anime was still tiring to figuer out how to make use of computer cell animation so things are a bit choppy but on the other hand the mecha in this look rely good i rely like the strain espasholy the gloire witch has a black selena feel to it and is fast becoming my Favorite non humanode mecha

the soundtrack is your standerd mid 2000 afar meaning you hardly hear it but when you do its a ok score nothing to get all up in arms about but i did like the op

so all in all i say give this show a chans its only 13 eps sum thing you blast thew in a day and you can find it on netflix so untill next time keep watching anime

otakunick retro reviews (mugen no Ryvius )

hey guys its me again with all my free time i have now being a jobless bum i figerd why the hell not ceach up not only on the curent anime iv yet to watch but to go back and watch one iv been meening to see but never did well iv done just that by watching mugen no Ryvius a scifi anime from sunrise and directed by Taniguchi, Goro who was the Original Creator of code geass thow you would not know that just by watching the show in fact the only indastry big shot youl be abel to pin this on just by watching it would be the Character Designer Hirai, Hisashi who is best know for his work on gundam seed but he also did the Character Design for Kurogane no Linebarrels, Soukyuu no Fafner: Dead Aggressor and Scryed all of witch are better shows then gundam seed in my personal opinion

but lets face it the Character Design is not what makes this show worth watching its the story The year is AD 2225. Kouji Aiba and Aoi Housen are serving as astronauts in-training in Liebe Delta which is located on the edge of the Geduld Sea. When saboteurs with unknown intents suddenly strike during a routine dive procedure, the space station plummets into the Geduld, a plasma field that links all the planets like a nervous system and crushes any ship that strays too far into it. With all the adults onboard killed, the young astronauts will have to survive this long journey home in midst of the growing tension amongst each other( and when i say tension i meen it). Meanwhile the organizers of the sabotage look on and prepare to attack once more. its this story and how the dialog flows that going to make you want to keep watching this show how these kids act is the most realistic out of all other shows with similar themes

the sound track is okay not my Favorite but it gets the job dune and the hip hop overtone of it rely helps lighten the mood on sum of the more depressing eps the op would have to be my Favorite score from the sound track it rely fits the show and lets you know just what its all rely about and oddly enough dos not sound haff bad translated ether

now i know iv been singing this shows parse but thare are sum down falls two and one of them would have to be the voice acting for the most part its okay but having a cast that litaraly 99% under the age of 18 makes for sum rely squeaky and annoying voices now i know it fits for the cast but still even i did not sound as nasoly as haff this kids at 16 and i know this is one of thos well anime is not made for the US and i know that but comon i know sum Japanese people and they never sounded like that ether

and the animation can be a bit slopy at times but from a show made in 1999 it looks good not the best but defiantly passably so over all i have to say this is a watch and if you like it a buy witch cunsitering you can get all 26 eps for less then 25$ thats not a bad deal ofcorse for me even thats to much lol well till next time see you guys

otakunick retro reviews (golden boy)

hey guys im back with more free time thanks to me losing my job so you know what that means... thats right im going to have no time to do reviews cause il be spending all my time looking for work... just kidding it means you guys are in store for more reviews and to start things off how about a review on a anime from the mid 90s when my life was focused more on how i was going to pass my eng test not tiring to find work to feed myself and oddly enough this anime is about a guy who takes studding to a new extremes thats right today i review golden boy

golden boy aired Oct 27, 1995 to Jun 28, 1996 and was a 6 ep OVA and was the brain child of Egawa, Tatsuya whos other works include Power Dolls and Tokyo Daigaku Monogatari nether of witch i have seen but have been looking for

now for the story Kintarou Oe doesn't look like it, but he is a genius who completed all his university courses and then quit before graduating. He becomes a wandering student, going from place to place on his bicycle, seeking to learn what he can about life, the world, and women. He is willing and able to do any job he has to prove himself. His travels take him to a variety of locations and a variety of women, each who learns to love the hardworking guy, but not before he can run off. i know this probably dos not sound to interesting but it plays out much better and much funny-er and if you dont believe me just watch the DVD trailer

as for the art its has more income with late 80s anime then the stuff that was coming out in the 90s witch i think works in the show benefit i dont think the show would look as good if it had the same art as tenchi muyo or sum thing like that all the charters are properly proportioned except when they do sum thing outrageous for comedic value and i love the detail and color pallet they put into each frame you can rely tell how hard the animators worked on it

i cant say much on the voice work because i saw this dubbed and well lets just say the eng dub barley gets a pass the cast tires hard but thars just sum thing missing but over all i have to say go and watch this anime its short funny and you can get the full series for less then 40$

otakunick gundam reviews (mobile suit gundam)

hey guys it me and yea im late at putting sum thing up again tho at lest this time its only by a coppel hours and not a day or two now for this weeks review i am doing another retro review because i have not finished the show i am watching and was plaining on reviewing because i have been to bissy getting redy to go away on my vacation this thursday but fear not i will be back befor the next post is sapost to go up and by then i will have sum thing good for you i think

so to minamise the amount of thinking i am starting a series of reviews on a a fanchise in witch i know just about everything gundam and i will be starting with the grandady of them all 0079

lets start off with the story Universal Century 0079: The Principality of Zeon has declared its independence from the Earth Federation, and subsequently launched a massive war of independence, a war which has raged in every continent on earth and in nearly every space colony and lunar settlement. The Zeon have the upper hand through their use of a revolutionary new type of weapon, their humanoid like mobile suits. When a Zeon recon team disobey mission orders and begin attacking Side 7 its citizens stumble across the Federations latest weapon: the Gundam. With the aid of Earth Federation soldiers stationed aboard the MS carrier White Base the newly formed crew of refugees set out to change the course of the One Year War — or die trying now for thos that have watched other gundams or hell many other mecha anime this mite sound fermiluer well thats becasue this is the story that has sponed the intier teal robot ganra of anime and is still omiged to this day

the art is your standerd late 70s art so if that art puts you off you mite whant to whait till gundam the origin comes out and thare are alot of funy animation blunders thew out but this was normel for the 70S

the music was good atlest good enuph for andrew w.k redo the intier soundtrack and good enuph for me to still listion to it

so all and all i say give it a watch but i do understand if you dint think youd like it because it is old

otakunick retro reviews (rahxephon)

hey guys i know i am a day late but i have a good reason for it i recently got the DVD box set of the rahxephon anime series and i wanted top do a retro review on it since its nerly 10 years old (tho you would not be able to tell just by looking at the animation) so without further adue lets get started oh and be wornd thare will be spoilers

now then since i got the DVD box set that alredy probly tells you wether or not i think this show is worth buying but lety me say it ether way this is a anime i think everyone should watch at one pont in time just like evangelion infact evangelion and rahxephone are often compared due to thare simalaratys bolth of them are shows that deal with mechas that become god and change the world granted in rahxephone this change is for the best and in eva its just a apocaleps but whatever

i gess you guys want a brake down well lets start with the story In the year 2012 Japan was invaded by the Mu. Human-like beings from another dimension with blue blood.

In the year 2015 Tokyo is attacked by invaders, who are repelled by a humanoid weapon called a Dolem. During the chaos, Ayato Kamina meets Reika Mishima, a classmate.

During that same day, he is attacked by government officials but a woman named Haruka comes to his rescue, informing him that she was sent to get him by the Organization TERRA, and that Tokyo had been sealed in a time rift where time flows one third as fast as the outside world.

He flees from Haruka onto a train where he sees Reika once more. Arriving at the Room of Rah, he follows her to a tremendous egg where the Dolem RahXephon is hatched from, and upon her singing his mother appears atop the Dolem that had stopped the TERRA Invasion. In the battle Ayato's mother is injured, and Ayato flees Tokyo Jupiter with Haruka upon seeing his mother's blue blood a good way to draw people in if i do say so myself above all els you should watch a show for the story and rahxepons story dos a great job pulling you in and holding you tight right up to the end

and the OST is also sum thing that shines in this anime but with so many musical references it damn well better be great i can say aside from from one or two other series thare is almost no anime i wach the OP and end songs for on each ep but in rahxephon i cant help but do so they are among my top anime op and endings

up next the art if you remember in my first paragraph i menchened you would not be able to tell this was nearly 10 years old thats because it looks that good if i did not know any better i say it was made in 2007 or 2008 not 2002 back in 2002 the anime industry was still just steeping into using computers cell animation it was more likely to see stuff like excele saga with vary in your face coloring compared to rahxephones more pastel color palet not to menchon the fact that I found it hard to find any drop in animation quality witch for a 2002 anime of 26 ep is hard to do hell even 12 ep anime for this season have a drop in quality every now and then so yea this os one good looking anime

as for the voice work i will admite i have never wached this anime in its original Japanese dub back when i first watched this on the anime network it was in ENG and apon my re-watche nerly 7 years latter i still whent straight for the eng dub not because i was lazy but because for this to be a proper retro review i needed to watch it in the same dun i first wached it in so see how it stands up to time and i have to say this dub is one thats still good defiantly one of the best dubs to come from ADV (tho there dubs were ushaly good to begin with)and compared to todays dubs its like music to my ears (yes I just did use a music reference to discrib a dub from a anime that uses music turmanolagy almost every fucking ep)

so over all i have to say go out and get this anime you can still find the box set with a bit of diging and it will make a great addition to any anime collection

thoughts on higarashi no naku koro ni kira ep 1

thats right two reviews in less then 24 hours im rely working overtime hear lol well anyway you may all now that i have been a higarashi fan for a long time i have watched ever anime and ova of it as well as read sum of the manga so when i saw that they made a new higarashi ova i was happy and ep 1 went pretty much as expected started out happy go lucky but turned dark twords then end

but unlike its predecessors when it turned to the darker end of things it renamed funny ware as the others did not when they got dark you where not laughing but then again its still just the first EP so i will have to wait and see

as for a story as of right now thare is not much of one to talk about Keiichi laments his inability to win at the club when Irie, Ooishi, and Tomitake drop from the ceiling to help there so called soul brother (this is a joke from rei that seems to been brout over) and hijinks issue

now thats rely all i can say about kira because the main story of the ova has not relay been hinted to just yet but i will leave you with one more thing to think over this ova has better art then any of the previous anime or ovas to date and i look forword to the next ep

first thoughts on mayo chiki

hey guys its me and let me just say this is a first for me i normally only watch one or two shows from the summer season but this season i am watching a lot combined that with how much i work and you can just gess how much of a back log i have built up these last few weeks hell i still have not finished sum of last seasons anime so if it seems like i am being slow with reviews thats why

now with that out of the way lets get on to the real reason why you are hear you want to know if mayo chiki is any good and let me tell you its just good nothing more nothing less yes the charters are funny but aside from that thare is not anything outstanding about it but dont get me wrong that dos not mean its bad it just means its a run of the mill anime made to keep the demographic happy

now to explain why this anime is not going to win any awards lets start with the art its as generic as generic can come just your run of the mill computer cell animation clean lines not overly detailed with sum nice coloring and proper proportions not bad but not anything new ether

as for the sound track well if not for the opening and ending songs i would not even say thare was one all the music just blends together into background noise with only the melody of marry s little lamb sticking out in the sponsors section right after the opening

the voice work is good but feel and TBS have alwas got good voice work so i cant rely say much on that yea its real nice that they got sum good voice actors for the show but in the end non of the characters rely stand out as needing a big name voice actor to get the fullest out of them in the first place i honestly would have liked to see sum new talent tire and make a name for them self's with this show rather then seeing already established VAs just playing a unchanging role

and the last thing up on the list of things to talk about is the story Konoe Subaru, 17, has been serving as the butler of Suzutsuki Kanade in school, a classmate of Sakamachi Kinjirou. Due to an accident, Sakamachi discovers Subaru's secret... that he's actually a girl!? Apparently she will be removed from her position if anyone at school finds out. What will unfold from this chain of events? this story is probably the only reason i am watching this anime and it is rely the only reason you need to have to watch this if you like how this story sounds i sagest watching this you will have a good time that's for shore

first thoughts on blood-c

hey guys i know this post is almost two weeks late but works had be by the balls recently and i have not been in the mood to type anything till now. but today i fell good and id think its about time i do a first thought on a new anime that came out this season. so without further adue hear are my thoughts on blood-c

i know i promised to do a review on blood the last vampire and blood+ before doing this. but i never got around to it but i will get around to it before the series is over so please be pashent with me.

the story of this new blood anime seems interesting enough Ukishima Shrine is located in an old, picturesque lakeside town. Shrine maiden Kisaragi Saya lives there along with her father, Tadayoshi. By day, she lives the life of a normal high school student at Sanbara Academy. By night, she hunts the Old Ones. Possessing supernatural physical prowess, the Old Ones prey on humans, and only Saya has the ability to defeat them. but the first ep rely did not do much for me
for the most part it was to show off the new saya witch is a massive divergent from the previous two the first of witch was emotionless and the second one being emo most of the time so i have to say its a nice change of pace to see this happy care free saya

the art was good iv always been a clamp fan so its not surprising that i liked the character designs and the animation was good but i don't give production I.G. points for that any more the music is always good but Sato, Naoki behind in charge that was going to be a given for thos that don't know him he was the composer for Eureka Seven and Heroic Age bolth of witch have great music

over all i have to say i will be continuing this anime as far as production quality, music, voice acting, and story is concerned this is a good anime and only personal preference shood keep you from watching it

If this Bill passes say goodbye to all Video Game streaming or uploads on Youtube

Well let me start with I saw this bill the very first day it appeared on people's radar's and that is Bill S.978.
What the bill wants to do in short is stop the streaming and uploading of copyrighted materials anywhere on the internet. Now the problem isn't that specifically its that it is worded so vaguely that it effects video games and even other videos on youtube that are just people singing songs and stuff. This bill is meant to stop all uploading and streaming of movies and tv shows where money can't be made by the publishing company.

To stop this bill from coming into effect or at least getting it reworded please sign this petition:

otakunick anime reviews (dog days)

Well in my last review i was less then enthused about the show i was reviewing but this time I'm going to review an anime that i really enjoyed from the maker of the Nanoha series Tsuzuki, Masaki, that's right today I review Dog Days.

Now way back in the beginning of the season you might remember me doing a first thoughts review on this anime. So I don't need to really get into the story if you never read that review click hear to read it.

But if you have read it you might remember me saying that even though this show starts out happy go lucky and carefree that Tsuzuki, Masaki usually finds a way of darkening the story around the mid to late episodes. As I predicted he would end up doing just that around episode 7 or 8 the show takes a darker tone and keeps it until episode 10 when the major threat is resolved, leaving us with 3 episodes of the carefree show right? Well not exactly though it's not as dark as the final conflict the story ends up throwing us one more curve ball to try and make us feel bad for the male lead. Before ultimately resolving that problem as well so we get the usual Tsuzuki, Masaki happy ending motif.

So what am I trying to say is this show played out just like most of Tsuzuki, Masaki previous shows. It starts out carefree with the lead having a fate-full encounter then shit hits the fan half way through. Then there's a tear-full goodbye then a ray of hope for a Reunion. Formulaic? Yes, but it works for story's like this.

Now I would not say this is a show everyone should just go out and watch, sure I liked it but that is because i like the formula it follows, I liked it in Nanoha and i liked it here. I know though there are a lot of people who do not like it and I can see why they don't. All in all the shows just playing it safe never really stands out to anyone other than its core demographic but I do have to say at least give it a try you never now you may end up liking it as well.

otakunick anime reviews (A-channel)

Well guys it's that time again one of the spring anime season has wrapped up and I'm here to give you my thoughts on it and let me just say if this review doesn't make you want to go out and watch this anime right now I really wouldn't be surprised. A-Channel really has to be one of the most plain anime I have watched in years and this is coming from a guy that watches between 10 and 20 anime a season but I still do opt out of some though.

A-Channels story revolves around the everyday life of four high school girls: the flighty Run, the reckless Tooru, the timid Yuuko, and the level-headed Nagi. Doesn't sound all the interesting right well that’s because it isn’t the one sentence really sums up all 12 episodes of this anime it really just feels like they plopped us right into the daily lives of these four girls and honestly I really don’t see a reason for anyone to rush out and watch this.

The animation looks good most of the time but they use this weird chibi-esque like face on all the characters but don’t make the body’s chibi, couple this with the characters already looking like noodle people and your just waiting for one of there necks to snap under the weight of their massive heads. I'm shore this worked in the manga because they’d crop into just the heads but for anime its just awkward.

Now the music is good that is if they didn’t use an insert song each episode to pad out the length of the episode, having one or two insert songs in an anime isn't that bad but seriously why every episode it really more of a hindrance then it is help.

So to wrap things up on this short review I really cant see why I didn’t drop this anime its easily one of the weakest series this season with no real redeeming features and I really don’t see any reason to say watch it so this ones really up to your own discretion guys.

Gundam The Origin to be Animated

Okay everyone that reads this blog or listens to the podcast knows just how big of Gundam fans we hear at otakuhome are and while I don’t think I need to say that we had a negative reaction to Gundam Age because of the direction it took. It's decision to go for the younger demographic and in fact I even thought that sunrise was thinking of abandoning the fans that built up the studio to what it is now since all we've had for serious Gundams as of late was unicorn though great having to wait SEVERAL months at a time for the next ep is a killer. Fear not older Gundam fans we also get a new series much like the kids that will be watching Age now if you didn’t read the title (though I don’t know who wouldn’t read a title before reading a blog post) your probably asking yourself what’s the new gundam for older fans well I’ll tell you my friends as of today June 25th the "Gundam The Origin" manga has been given the green light for an anime. Yeah that’s right in this month’s Gundam Ace magazine sunrise has officially announced that "Gundam The Origin" will be getting an anime and this comes straight from the top from sunrises president Kenji Uchida himself.

Now then some of you who aren’t new fans of Gundam but aren’t exactly the oldest of fans are probably wondering just what is "Gundam The Origin" well it’s a serialized manga in Gundam Ace that started back in 2001 which retold the original gundams story with some slight differences. The real reason I’m so excited about this is because we will be getting a updated version of 0079 in which Gundam fans that want to know where Gundam started but can’t quite handle the old 70s art this is also the first time a Gundam anime will be getting a reboot from a manga.

As I already know the original story of Gundam I’m more looking forward to seeing the slight differences that the origin throws in there such as seeing how Char went from Casval Rem Deikun to Char Aznable and stuff like that. There are some things I’m worried about for instance two of the main characters VA'S from the original anime are no longer with us Hirotaka Suzuoki voice of Bright Noa who died on August 6, 2006 and Yumi Shitsukawa voice of Sayla Mass who died on February 28, 2003. Now some of you are probably thinking what’s the big deal can't they just recast them. In short, yes they can but these two VA have been considered the defacto voices for the characters for over 30 years recasting them could cause some major anger among the fans if it’s not done right, granted I still think Sunrise already knows this and is looking for VA's with the closest possible voices to the originals as they can. Also to illustrate a point during Zeta Gundam Yumi Shitsukawa (Sayla Mass) was on Safari in Africa so they rewrote the story to take her character out and change some events because they didn't want to replace her voice actress.

Now with all that said and done I hope you all will give this new anime a chance and look forward to a hopefully episodic review of Gundam The Origin.

otakunick sci-fi reviews (Falling Skies)

Hey guys after not watching freaking anime for a while this week and really only having two things to actually talk about I decided to post this. One being the surprisingly good new TNT sci-fi show Falling Skies and two being the barely good enough Green Lantern movie now then I'm sure you know what I'll be review even without looking at the title of this.

That's right Green Lantern... oh what nope, Falling Skies it is lol

Falling Skies tells the story of the aftermath of an alien invasion. It follows a group of survivors who must band together in order to fight back against the invading aliens. The group, known as the 2nd Mass (for "Massachusetts" now do you see why im choosing to review this), is lead by Boston University history professor Tom Mason who, while in search of his son, must put his extensive knowledge of military history into practice as one of the leaders of the resistance movement.

Now the fact that this series takes place in MA is not the only reason i chose to review it over The Green Lantern it really has a solid story and characters and some nice action. The first two episodes did not have the most action in them due to the fact they where more about introducing us to the world and its players which, it did really well as the 2 hour season premier got 5.9 million viewers making it the #1 premier of the year thus far.

Now i cant actually dive to deeply into this series as its just starting but i can say this from the first two episodes alone i have been hooked its a solid start to what appears to be a solid show.

otakunick anime reviews (bakemonogatari)

hey guys i know a a few days late with this but life has been keeping me biss so hears a a short review to hold you guys over

now i am shore most people have at lest herd of bakemonogatari and if not The story centers on Koyomi Araragi, a third year high school student who has recently survived a vampire attack, and finds himself mixed up with all kinds of apparitions: gods, ghosts, myths, and spirits.

your probably wondering why my synopsis was so shore and thats because this show is dialog heavy to the point ware more then one ep was nothing but two charters sitting around and talking nonstop for a hour and a story get advanced so fare that if i go into details it cud ruin a rely good show and as of late id rather not do that so all i will ad is that thare are 5 arcs in the story each dealing with a new girl and a new spirit related problem with araragi helping them thew it in one way shape or form so yes this is a harem anime at its core but dune in a way you would not expect at all

now aside from the story the other thing that sets bakemonogatari apart is its art i would not say its bad infact i like it in the slow moments of the show (witch make up a god 95% of the show) the art looks fantastic but when thare is a fight or sum thing like that you can rely see whare shaft was tiring to cut corners and save money granted the fights no mater how few there were looked good but there where times ware i notest decreases in quality

but sum thing shaft didint skimp on was the music each art has its own OP witch sounds great i personaly like the first and last ones the best

so over all i say give this anime a tire especially cunsitering it will be getting a prequel witch will explaine the events of a certen golden week every fan of the anime that has yet to get thare hands on the light novel have been whating to know about

Konami Drops A Lot of Good News

Ok so for the past few days Konami has been giving us a lot of information about games they are releasing and to be honest I could not be more psyched.

http://www.gamingexcellence.com/ps3/news/3405.shtml

I'll start off with the most recent news to get me excited and that is that Silent Hill, Metal Gear Solid, and Zone of Enders HD Remakes. Now Silent Hill will be getting 2 and 3 remade which are arguably there two most popular Silent Hills. Me Personally I'm Happy about this but I would have liked to see the first being remade as well. Metal Gear Solid will be getting 2, 3, and Peace Walker remade now I'm a little annoyed that the first wouldn't be remade because graphically and gameplay wise its the most in need and also with its age less people have played it that have played the rest of the series. Now while I'm probably the most excited to see MGS be remade Zone of Enders being remade gets a close second. Zone of Enders will have 1 and 2 being remade, kind of a no brainer there because there's only a 1 and 2.

"The Metal Gear Solid HD collection is set for a November 2011 release, while the Zone of Enders HD collection will be released sometime in 2012. No release date was given for the Silent Hill HD collection."

I'm a little less enthusiastic about the dates due to Skyrim coming out 11/11/11 but the earlier they come out the better I guess but the best of the news has yet to be said and that is;

"Also in a surprise announcement, the games will be released for PS3 and Xbox 360. Both games will be getting full HD upgrades as well as Trophy and Achievement support."

Both HD Consoles will be getting these releases and I don't know about you but ME personally I'm Psyched to play all these games on the Xbox 360 and hope they continue to re-release with Microsoft consoles, in terms of marketing this could not be a better move because this is an almost completely untapped market for Konami's Major Franchises.

The rest of the news is about Kojima's new project for Data transfer:

"Kojima also unveiled a project he has been working on called "Transfarring". This will allow gamers to seamlessly transfer their saved files back and forth from their PS3 and PSP...

...Kojima also went on to saying that he hopes to improve Transfarring to where players can bring PS2 data to the PS3 and the NGP. He also wants to bring PS3 data to the NGP as well.

The PS3 versions of the Zone of the Enders and Metal Gear Solid HD collections will both be Transfarring enabled."

While it is a great idea its not really that... helpful that it really warrants much excitement.

Now all this news actually comes from Konami's Pre-E3 Press Conference and While I am going to post it... it is also an hour long video about ALL their current projects so some news is not as great as others.

Now as much as I'd like to sum this up it would need a bunch of different posts just for the one video so I'd like to ask you to watch it instead because honestly its awesome!

otakunick reviews DR who franchise (the three doctors)

hey guys i am back to give you another DR who review this time on a older DR who story DR who the three doctors but before that let me give you a little run down on how this is posable in DR who the doctor is from a race called the time lords now the time lords have a trait that alows them exstremly long life spans and that is they have 13 lives when a time lord dies he insted morphs into a new body and once all 13 lives have been used thats it they die for good(tho in sum cases sum time lords finds ways around that ) ofcorse this is just sum thing the creator came up with to exsplane why the DR was being played by sum one els but in the end it created sum nice storys and plot ponts

not to the plot just like my waters of mars review this will be a complete over view so Thar will be spoilers

A superluminal signal is sent to Earth, carrying with it an unusual energy blob that seems intent on capturing the Third Doctor. In the meantime, the homeworld of theTime Lords is under siege, with all the power sustaining it being drained through a black hole. Trapped and desperate, the Time Lords do the unthinkable and break the First Law of Time, allowing the Doctor to aid himself by summoning his two previous incarnations from the past.
Unfortunately, the First Doctor is trapped in a time eddy, unable to fully materialize, and can only communicate via viewscreen, but the Second Doctor joins the Third in investigating the origins of the creature and the black hole, while UNIT headquarters faces an attack by the gel-like alien creatures.
The First Doctor deduces the black hole is a bridge between universes, and the other two Doctors allow the TARDIS to be swallowed up by the energy creature, which transports them, Dr Tyler, Jo Grant, Sergeant Benton and Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart into an antimatter universe created by the legendary Time Lord Omega. Omega was a solar engineer who created the supernova that powers Time Lord civilization, but was considered killed in the explosion. In actuality, he had been transported to the antimatter universe, where his will and thought turned the formless matter into physicality. Trapped, due to the fact that his will is the only thing maintaining reality, he vowed revenge on the Time Lords who left him stranded.
It is clear that the exile has made Omega quite insane. Along with his revenge, he has summoned the Doctors here to take over the mental maintenance of the antimatter universe so he can escape. However, the Doctors discover that years of exposure to the corrosive effects of the black hole's singularity have destroyed Omega's physical body - he is trapped forever. Driven over the edge by this discovery, Omega now demands that the Doctors share his exile.
The Doctors escape briefly, and offer Omega a proposition. They will give him his freedom if they send the others back to the positive matter universe. Omega agrees, and when that is done, the Doctors offer Omega a force field generator containing the Second Doctor's recorder, which had fallen in it prior to the transport through the black hole. Omega knocks the generator over in a rage and the unconverted positive matter recorder falls out of the force field. When the recorder comes into contact with the antimatter universe, it annihilates everything in a flash, returning the Doctors in the TARDIS to the positive matter universe. The Third Doctor explains that death was the only freedom anyone could offer Omega.
With the power now restored to the Time Lords, they are able to send the First and Second Doctors back to their respective time periods. As a reward, the Time Lords give the Third Doctor a new dematerialization circuit for the TARDIS and restore his knowledge of how to travel through space and time.

now onto the plot be wordn this will be a detailed review so it will contain spoiors
the story starts with the Doctor wandering the Martian landscape in his spacesuit, the Doctor is detained by the inhabitants of the human colony Bowie Base One, under the command of Captain Adelaide Brooke. During his interrogation, he learns that the date is 21 November 2059. According to future history, on this day the base was destroyed in a nuclear blast, and Brooke and her crew were all killed. This event is fixed in time, as it is the catalyst that inspires mankind, including Brooke's descendants, to explore and expand throughout space and make peaceful contact with extraterrestrial lifeforms. The Doctor, unwilling to interfere, decides that he must leave Mars.

However, a crisis is developing: two colonists, Andy Stone and Maggie Cain, have been infected by a strange life form which changes them into zombie-like creatures capable of gushing copious amounts of water from their bodies. The virus soon spreads, with Andy passing on the condition to Tarak Ital. After Maggie is safely secured in the medical wing, the organism present in her body reveals its desire to reach Earth, a planet rich in water. Adelaide and the Doctor determine the virus came from unfiltered water taken from the underground glacier used in the biodome portion of the base, and the remaining crew are not yet infected; the Doctor suspects the virus was contained in the glacier centuries before by the Ice Warriors. The crew decide that it is too dangerous to remain, and plan to evacuate in an escape shuttle. Before departing himself, the Doctor informs Adelaide that she must die today, on Mars, if history is to unfold as it should.
As the Doctor is making his way back to the TARDIS, Andy and Tarak mount Bowie Base's outer shell and exude water, which cascades into the control centre and infects Steffi Ehrlich and Roman Groom. Maggie also breaks out of isolation and infects Ed Gold, the shuttle pilot and Adelaide's second-in-command. Before the condition takes a hold over him, however, Ed manages to trigger the shuttle's self-destruct mechanism, which kills him and traps the infection on Mars but also leaves the surviving crew with no means of escape. Witnessing the explosion, the Doctor is overcome with defiance against time itself and turns back to save the others. The Doctor tries various methods to fight the water but they are all quickly undone. Since it seems inevitable that history will follow its set course, Adelaide activates the base's self-destruct sequence. However, as a last resort, the Doctor uses Roman's remote-controlled robot, GADGET, to access the TARDIS, operate its controls and transport the ship into the control centre, rescuing Adelaide, Yuri Kerenski and Mia Bennett before the base is destroyed by the self-destruct.
The TARDIS materialises outside Adelaide's house on Earth, where GADGET loses his signal completely. Yuri and Mia are shocked by their experiences and depart. Alone with Adelaide, the Doctor explains his reasoning for interfering in set events: as the last of the Time Lords, he is no longer bound by the laws of his race and has total authority over time. Proudly declaring himself the "Time Lord Victorious", he vows that with this power, he can now ensure the survival of pivotal figures such as Adelaide as well as "little people" such as Yuri and Mia. Scolding the Doctor for his new-found arrogance and asserting that "the Time Lord Victorious is wrong", Adelaide returns home and commits suicide. The Doctor's efforts at changing the timeline are mostly undone, although Adelaide dies on Earth rather than Mars, Yuri and Mia live through the events of the episode and the exact circumstances surrounding Bowie Base's destruction are now known to Earth.
The Doctor is overcome with emotion, realising too late that his hubris will have consequences. Ood Sigma then appears in the street. Visibly shaken, the Doctor asks him whether he has finally gone too far — whether the time has come for him to die. Unresponsive, Sigma vanishes, and the Doctor staggers back into the TARDIS to the ominous sound of the Cloister Bell. With a defiant "No!" he begins to operate the controls.

now as this is one of the more resent DR who storys the production values are quite good id say on par with big budget shows hear in the US yes the CG is esay to see but it rely just adds to the charm of the show and the big fuck you the story thows the DRs way rely shows he even the last of the time lords isint above the laws of time and the acting is spot on nuthing felt over the top or anything like that the cast did a good job portraying there charters and setting the mood and speeking of the mood the music is as alwase for the newer DR who rely good most of it i hear in other seasons of the new DR who but thats ok because the OST fits just as well

all and all i have to say any fans of sci-fi TV shud watch this and if your a DR who fan and havent seen it yet check it out its well worth it
