oh 4kids cant you do anything right

Earlier today, ANN revealed that TV Tokyo and Nihon Ad Systems filed a joint suit against 4Kids Entertainment. According to the suit, 4Kids allegedly performed a number of acts, including “underpayments, wrongful deductions, and unmet obligations,” that total $4,792,460.36 in damages. As part of the suit, the two companies terminated their deal with 4Kids.
This all seems interesting enough on the surface, but the allegations hit a new level of “what the hell” later in the .filing. The plaintiffs allege that 4Kids entered a licensing agreement with FUNimation in 2002, which granted the company “broad right to exploit” the franchise in exchange for a royalty of 20% of gross receipts. In addition, they allege that the two companies entered a “secret” agreement for Yu-Gi-Oh! and other titles, for which 4Kids paid a $1.3 million advance and a service fee for each sale. The service fees totaled $3.934 million, which wasn’t reported as quarterly income. A similar deal was struck with Majesco to make videos to be played on the Game Boy Advance. 4Kids was paid an advance of $366,667 but reported ony $1 per sale as a service fee – none of which went back to Japan. The information came to light in a routine audit conducted by the licensors on the Yu-Gi-Oh! property.
Now, this seems pretty cut and dry on paper. An audit showed that 4Kids was paying nowhere close to their fair share, and had obligations of nearly $5 million. The company allegedly charged sales as “services” to avoid paying TV Tokyo and Nihon Ad on more than one occsion, and supposedly failed to meet unspecified obligations. The internet has already started to cast judgment, from the most popular, to average-sized venues. However, I don’t think this is the wisest thing to do.
I’m not a lawyer, nor do I ever claim to be one. However, I think people are jumping to far too early of a conclusion. People are letting their prejudices, their own short-sighted hatred of 4Kids cloud their judgment right now. I’ve heard far too many cries of “Good! They deserve this for what they did to One Piece/Yu-Gi-Oh/etc”, that it’s almost become a predictable meme. People seem to be using this more as an opportunity to bash 4Kids for their previous transgressions.Indeed, they want this to be the troubled corporation’s deathblow, rather than bothering to take an accurate assessment of the situation.
The evidence seems to be damning right now, but it’s only one side of the story. There are still far too many unknowns, and far too many specifics that we don’t know, before an accurate judgment can be made. At the very least, we as observers should let 4Kids issue their inevitable statement, and for more solid evidence than a Hollywood Reporter article begin to roll in. Yu-Gi-Oh! is a hugely profitable franchise for 4Kids. There’s no chance in hell that they’ll just give things up without a fight, especially when their last three consecutive reported quarters

now i am not a fan of 4kids one bit so you can Imagen how i must feel right now but this story dues worry me a bit in the fact that it mite hurt relationships between anime company and the US distributes in the fucher and if it dues well i gess i will have one more reson to hate 4kids

no new news so hears a review of yet another old ass anime iv seen

hey guys like i sed i cud not for the life of me find any interesting news that had has not already been talked about the point that its worth talking about anymore so i thought i would use the down time to tell you guys about another old anime i watched when i was first geting into anime as a hard core otaku

your probably wondering what anime il be reviewing and to answer that question il be reviewing maze of the haze witch was a anime made in the late 90s from Producers: J.C. Staff who brought us Azumanga Daioh as well as director Suzuki, Iku who gave us Moonlight Mile

the story of maz is actually  a Farly interesting one Maze wakes up in her house, everything is a wreck and she has amnesia. Before she can gather what has happened the girl Mill storms into her house thanking her for having saved her life. She tells Maze that her house suddenly fell down from the sky and crushed Mills pursuers under it. However before long they are both on the run from further pursuers who want their hands on princess Mill. They are only saved when Maze discovers that she has phantom light magical powers and can summon Mills family heirloom mecha. However her performance with the mecha is weak; that is until the sun goes down and she is turned in to a lecherous man. Soon other travellers join them as Maze tries to protect Mill and figure out what she is doing in this fantasy world.

the story starts off taking a bit from the wizard of OZ but quickly turns into sum thing completely deferent and just let me say there is sum thing a lot more to the female and male maz then first meets the eye witch Leeds to sum thing completely out of left field in the latter haff of the show but over all its a rely great story

the art is the token 90s art witch i personally love but sum may not all i have to say is if you liked the art of outlaw star then you will probably like this too and the animation quality  is just as good everything flows and detail is not lost during the fights witch is actually sum thing that happens a lot more in newer anime then the older stuff

and just like other animes from the 90s the OST is one to envy with bolth normal and rock scores i especially love the op witch sounds great in bolth its on air length and it full witch i have been playing in a loop wall writing this review

now i am going to end this hear because if i don't i will probably end up typing up a book at this rate so i will just end it by telling you that you shoud go out and get this anime at lest id like to say that but this was not rely one of the most popular anime in the 90s and because of that the DVDs are hard to come buy i don't even have the anime on DVD but if you can find it i say buy it
becuse you will most likely not get another chance

Awesome Display for Xbox 360

Hey guys so does anyone else have a shitty TV but a really nice computer moniter and find it a drag to play video games for your 360 on that crappy display? Well I just bought a few things that allow for it to look good on my 360. Seriously though I had been dealing with a crappy 480 tv for years and I only use it for my gaming now I can get the great graphics on my 1080 moniter for not only PC gaming but now Xbox 360 gaming (PS3 eventually too).
First you buy a Xbox 360 VGA HD AV Cable to plug into your xbox 360, and then any stereo female RCA to mini-plug adapter to plug into your speakers and then you're done.
Now I have Rich beautiful graphics on my Moniter and I can essentially get rid of my old TV clearing up so much space.

beginners guide to buying anime part 3 (good anime)

well guys i am back with a nuthere installment of beginners guide to buying anime this time i will be giving a rundown of sum good anime and manga that are all reddy hear in the US but befor i do that let me just quickly tell you what i think makes a good anime or manga

first of it needs to have a good story don't get me wrong it i am not expecting perfection all the time it just needs to properly convey what the writer whats to say sounds easy but there are a lot of horribly executed stories out there next up the charters even if a animes story is great if your charters a uninteresting no one will watch it and the last thing is the art now for me this is the lest in portent thing i can forgive a anime for having bad art if it has a good story

with that that out of the way lets get down to it hers a list of good anime and manga thats out in the US

  1. rurouni kenshin(anime and manga): this is a older anime and manga from the 90s but to this day remains one of my all time favorite the anime is 95 ep tho sadly after the kyoto arc it cot up with the manga and subsequently deviated from the mangas story resorting in a Farly sub par anime ending when compared to the manga witch is 28 vols
  2. get backers: yet another great anime from the 90s the story tho slow to start is rely great and the cast just makes you want to watch it witchis good because this anime has two seasons bolth of witch are out on DVD(tho by ADV so they mite be hard to find)
  3. utawareumono: a anime from the the early 2000's witch was based of a action VN(visual novel) is story is rely fun and has a unbelievable plot wist at the end
  4. yu yu hakusho: do i rely need to say why anyone who watched toonami in the mid 90's knows this was a great anime and with its new think pack box sets it tale up less space on your self and leaves more cash in your wallet being only 21$ a season
  5. outlaw star: just like yu yu hakusho if you watched toonami in the 90's you shud already now just how great this anime is sadly this is one of the harder anime to find even tho there are 2 releases for it
  6. cowboy bebop: now this show is a must own for all anime fans the story is top class the charters are great and even being mad in the 90's it still looks great

even more k-on news

Moeblob fans have been shocked to find that K-ON! has been picked up by Japan’s Disney Channel.
As might be expected, Japan’s Disney Channel normally shows family-friendly US-made Disney cartoons, drama and films, with some mainstream “anime” content (in Japanese usage all of Disney’s cartoons qualify as “anime”).
For them to show late night anime is rare indeed, and K-ON! has been given three slots a week, two of which are at the (for K-ON!) unusually early hours of 9 and 10PM.
Whilst traditional K-ON! fans may not be the core audience of Disney programming, they have been all but unanimous in recognising this as a major feather in Mio’s cap.
honestly i rely cud care less that disney japan is aring k-on but i do have to say i was surprised after hearing this . as stated k-on's fan base is not the type that disney is looking to grab hold of normally all i can say is i guess even disney can't resist  mio's striped panties

wow ishihara and hear i thought you cud not say anything els that would make me heat you

Tokyo’s reigning rape novelist Shintaro Ishihara has proclaimed the recent earthquake and tsunami are divine punishment for the sinful depravity the Japanese people now embody.
Asahi press club journalists quote him as saying the following when asked “how should the Japanese people view the quake?” in connection with the recent power trouble:
The identity of the Japanese people is greed.
This tsunami represents a good opportunity to cleanse this greed, and one we must avail ourselves of.
Indeed, I think this is divine punishment.
When asked by an incredulous journalist as to whether this was an imprudent utterance better not reported, he responded “It may be harsh for the victims to hear, but I want you to take it down and report it.”

catastrophic earth quake hits japan today

A catastrophic earthquake has struck Northern Japan, 150 miles off the coast. The quake hit on Friday, March 11, 2011 at 06:25:51 UTC, with a magnitude of 8.9. Frequent aftershocks at the time of this blog post. This is one one of the highest earthquakes ever recorded on earth. The quake is being described as roughly 1,000 times the size of the 2010 Haiti earthquake, in terms of total energy released. The USGS reports that this is the 5th strongest earthquake in the world since 1900.
The Pacific Tsunami Center has issued a warning not only for Japan, where a 10-meter (33 foot) high tsunami is already sweeping the country, but for the coast of Russia, Marcus Island, Guam, Taiwan, the Philippines, Marshall Island, Midway Island, Indonesia, and Papua New Guinea.
Live coverage on CNN International, Al Jazeera, and NHK, is showing massive tsunami waves of debris, mud, and flame wiping out massive sections of coastline. We are watching people dying, swept up in these massive waves of mud and debris.
Here's a Reddit thread with relevant links. There is already a Wikipedia page: 2011 Sendai Earthquake and Tsunami. The Google Person Finder is available to help connect with missing loved ones. YouTube's Citizentube is curating raw videos from eyewitnesses.

i would like to add that everyone hear at otakuhome is praying for the safety and wellbeing of everyone involved in this disaster

the reaction to the k-on girls going to university dos not surprise me one bit

The girls of K-ON! will be at university in weeks, but not all fans are happy – in fact, the creepiest amongst them seem to be in danger of creating some potentially entertaining drama.
The concern naturally stems from the outlandish notion that a moeblob can have a boyfriend, or that a woman can be appealing out of a school uniform:
“They are going to go nuts when the girls start going on group dates and even getting boyfriends…”
“Who cares about university students anyway – their uniforms must have been a big factor in their popularity.”
“They could have just wrapped it up at school and left things concluded nicely like that.”
“I don’t know what it’ll be like at university, but the K-ON! we know and love is finished.”

On the other hand, asking an actual female university student (K-ON! has a significant following amongst young women) yields quite a different response.
“I’m really excited about the continuation! It’s a given you’ll get a boyfriend, so it’s no surprise. I’m more interested in when they get to play the Budokan.”

2ch is of course generally considered to be closer to the former school of thought, but even so there is much recognition of the presumed inevitability of the girls developing normal human relationships rather than turning into bitter misanthropes or crazed girl-school lesbians:
“It’s be too unnatural for them to go to uni and not get boyfriends.”
“Otaku are so gross.”
“None of them are going to be virgins for much longer then!”
“I’m looking forward to seeing how they lose it.”
“They could have them all go to a women’s college…”
“Can’t they make this into a yuri manga?”
“Have it end with all of them having to marry after getting pregnant…”
“They could have done a middle school setting.”
“It would be really weird if they didn’t get into relationships…”
“You guys just go crazy every time a 2D girls gets into a relationship.”
“If they did not get boyfriends, it would prove that the moe-2D filter is the only reason they look so appealing, and in fact they are all ugly fatties after all.”
“It would be horrible if they all ended up spinsters. I hope a few get hitched with guys they love.”
“It is impossible for four female university students to all remain single.”
“If Mugi gets a boyfriend I will cry as I onanise over it…”
“With the loss of Azunyan they will need a new guitarist – perhaps it will be a new guy?”
“The important thing is how KyoAni adapts it – nobody reads the manga anyway.”
“I hope they all end up with boyfriends so we can watch the otaku go crazy – it’s the best form of entertainment.”

now personally i am thinking the same as the women reader in this story i'm more interested on when the hell the girls will get to  Budokan or rather if they ever will get to it but in the mean time i am looking forwerd to the new k-on manga being more open to its slice of life story and getting away from the moe blob aspect that personally i think has been holding it back

watch this

order of the ADD

anime boston

new info on the new K-on manga

K-ON!’s upcoming manga continuation is due to cover the university life of the girls, at the same time as Azunyan and company continue at school.
According to the announcement, K-ON! will continue in Manga Time Kirara, covering the university antics of the now graduated girls, whilst Manga Time Kirara Carat will carry a separate tale covering the high school antics of Azusa and company.
K-ON! Kirara will go on sale April 9th, whilst K-ON! Carat is due to start April 28th.
Although hardly overburdened with plot to begin with, having all the girls attend the same university might prove something of a stretch – though the awkwardness of this pales in comparison to improbability of keeping all the girls single and uninvolved whilst at university, a situation which the fanbase may not welcome any change in…

the original robot cat girl

hey guys it been a long time since my last anime review and i thought id go back and dig up one of my Favorite anime out of the 579 anime that i have watched and that would be Cat Girl Nuku Nuku. this was a obscure OVA from 1992 from Producers: Studio Fantasia, Starchild Records, Animate, Movic  that made its way over hear in the mid 2000s  witch helped make great anime like Durarara and FLCL. the charter designs were dune by Moriyama, Yuji who also worked on another obscure OVA called Jungle de Ikou!.

this OVA was also popular enough to get two spin off anime Cat Girl Nuku Nuku Dash and nuku nku both of witch where just as good as the original OVA so its rely up to you witch one to watch iv seen them all and highly recommended all three

i loved this OVA it was exstremly funny with a pretty out there plot When Ryunosuke's pet cat dies in an accident, his inventor father "resurrects" the cat by placing its brain in an android body made in the form of a young girl. The Android, Nukunuku, has the dual purposes of being a companion/sister for Ryunosuke as well as being a bodyguard for his father. Nukunuku's extreme strength and feline agility are regularly needed to protect Ryunosuke and his father from Ryunusuke's mother who seeks to kidnap them both following her divorce from his father. Her motives towards Ryunusuke are simple motherly love, however her genius-inventor-ex-husband she wants to put to work designing weapons of mass destruction for her weapons company.

since this is a OVA from the early 90s the animation is a bit dated but i personally think its held up nicely over the years as well as the music i especially like the OP theme with its up beet melody and vocals that rely set up the viewer for the fun thar about to have watching this OVA

now since this was a old anime it will be hard for people to find but i say if you see this in a store sum ware get it its only 6 EPs meaning you can bang the show out in a little under 3 hours but you will love every minute of it now if you exscuse me i feel like trying to find this so i can watch it again

I feel bad for all my readers in Europe not rely because I am a 360 owner

but still when i hers that European imports of the PS3 have been suspended for at least 10 days after Sony lost an important legal battle against rival LG. i did feel sum what bad for PS3 fans that they got cot up in a international pissing contest between sony and LG if you what the full story her you go

Korean electronics giant LG is alleging the PS3 infringes patents it holds on technology used in the Blu-ray format, and has been seeking various injunctions on its sale and import as part of its ultimate goal of wringing hundreds of millions of dollars in damages from Sony in markets around the world.
European courts recently granted one such injunction, in the form of a 10 day freeze on PS3 imports (said to be 100,000 a week), which are now piling up in a warehouse under the custody of European customs authorities.
European sales of the PS3 itself are unaffected, but as these sales are dependent on imports retailers are now only able to sell whatever stock it is they have on hand – assuming the injunction is not extended, it is thought supplies should be sufficient to allow continued availability.
Needless to say, any further injunction is likely to be a colossal setback for Sony.
Sony for its part has been busy suing LG back, seeking various injunctions on its products as well, as part of a much larger patent war between the two.
Coming not long after Sony managed to get German police to raid the homes of PS3 hackers and seize their computers (a move which predictably backfired immediately as all their code was subsequently spread far and wide as the “screw you” effect kicked in), sympathy for Sony is understandably in short supply.
